    Excellent Watch!

I have only had it for a couple of days, so I only rated it 4 stars, but it probably deserves 5. The band was way too big so I made a trip to the jewellers to have a link taken out - now perfect. As others say, the manual is hopeless if you have old eyes: tiny booklet with tiny print. But I downloaded it online and printed it off and I am working my way through it. There is lots to learn. I had to set latitude and longtitude for my city (Perth, Western Australia) and the instructions for doing that were easy to follow. I can now see what time sunrise and sunset are at the push of a button. But if you are travelling then you have to redo this exercise for each place you visit, which sounds like a pain. I have been checking out the barometer, it seems to consistently read 4 hPa below what the Bureau of Met says their reading is. I don't really care about this as long as it is consistent, it is the trend which matters. There are instructions on recalibrating this function, but at this stage I am not going to bother. The graph of readings from the barometer is smaller than I expected, but it is usable. So far, a great watch. Can't go wrong with Casio!

Inferior to the much less expensive prw3500 1

I have two other prw3500 models and they are 1/2 the price of this one, and perform better. First, the backlight of 3500t-7 is dim on one half, while the other 3500's have an even backlight which lights up the whole face. Secondly, with all 3 watches in the same place, only the 3500t-7 won't synch with the atomic clock. Still a good watch and I probably would have given it 4 stars if I didn't own the 2 other 3500's and didn't know that the 3500t-7 was inferior. Save yourself $120 and get a 3500 1, instead.

  • This multi-functional watch does a lot, but the user interface is complicated.

My main motivation in buying this model was to track vertical feet skied. Although I know the watch has this function, and the manual devotes over 20 pages to a comprehensive and detailed discussion of all the altitude features, the manual does not provide clear step-by-step instructions HOW to automatically record and display ascent/descent data. I think that I can figure it out by carefully referencing and hand-outlining a step-by-step procedure, but every time I start to do this I get glassy-eyed and fall asleep. Maybe I will figure it out over the summer so it will be intuitive for next ski season, but I don't think a customer should be expected to do this. A YouTube how to video on the topic would be much appreciated. -Frustrated in Boulder, CO!

  • Tuff stuff: a great watch until the end of time.

This is really a watch that should last you until the end of time. Temperature, Barometric pressure to see if a storm is coming, Altitude, Solar power recharging, Digital magnetic compass, radio atomic time sinchronization, titanium case and strap with micro adjustments, lighweight as a feather, light, 100 m water resistance, chronometer, Alarms, GMT time for 36 cities...What else could you require from a watch? to have a fax machine or a laser beam on it? Ah! all of this under US$200.00! Only drawback is the mineral cristal, it would have been great to have a Saphire anti scratch cristal, but still, it's a great watch.

  • Better and better-looking than expected.

I've owned similar watches but this is the best of a good lot. It's full of useful features, with the titanium band lighter than you might think, and with the black-on-gray color scheme (I think) it looks sharp. Last but not least, the price I paid was was about the 1/3 of the MSRP. Overall, I'm very pleased with it.

  • damn good watch

i love mine. i had the one previous to this one so i might be biased. the only thing i can fault was the manual receive of the time signal it failed on every attempt but the automatic time signal worked like a dream. the visibility of the watch at night is with the back light is fantastic. it wasn't on my other watch. my other watch was prw1500.
