  • Excellent lens

I use this lens mostly between 16-24 mm and it gives great sharp pictures anywhere in between. It is great for landscape photography. I couldn't justify buying the 2.8 16-35mm because of the price difference. Beside, I will never use an aperture less than 4.0 outdoor during daylight. Whatever the circumstances, I can compensate with the shutter speed and/or the ISO using a tripod. Overall, it is a great lens and I think I made the right decision.

  • Wonderful lens

Item received in perfect condition as described. I’ve shot video and stills on a couple of different camera bodies and the lens has performed perfectly on all of them. Nails focus on moving targets even on a 5D classic. Image quality is top notch. Image stability for video works really well on a hand held Canon c300 mkii. Looking forward to using this on many shoots to come.

  • Great Wide-Angle Lens

The 16mm is the big draw here, of course, but the Canon "L" quality and dependability and niceties are also as expected: hood is included and the lens has a gasket by the mount. Canon original means that the free Canon DPP RAW-processing software automatically corrects aberrations. IS is nice to have, too, and the telephoto end of 35 mm is also good to have. It also accepts standard (for pros, anyways) 77mm filters, which means you can use a UV filter for protection, ND for waterfalls, etc.

  • Exellent Lens

This lens is sharp and has image stabilizing. It's about the same size as the F2.8 version, which is surprising. It is what you would expect from a Canon L lens. Somewhat expensive new, but you can get a minty used one for $500 which is great.

  • Amazingly sharp lens

This is a wonderful lens, being a wide angle lens it covers a lot. Its amazingly sharp, which is expected from a F4 lens, but still it will amaze with its accurate and sharp images. It has absolutely no Coma, chromatic aberrations or Purple fringing in challenging conditions, images are very crisp and pleasing. It does have the typical wide angle stretch and vignetting in corners. But having the knowledge of how to use a wide angle of this sort will solve the problems, vignetting is easily corrected in post. Only down side is it could have been cheaper for a F4 lens.

  • Excellent, versatile lens.

I work as a professional underwater cinematographer. This is the lens I use the most in my work. I can film big animals but also I can film small creatures because I can focus right all the way to the dome of the housing.

  • Hit Rate Beast

Using this lens professionally on wedding shoots and it’s sharper than all other wide angle zooms I’ve tried in the past, like the 17-40mm f/4 and both the 16-35mm f/2.8 versions Mark 1 & 2. I haven’t tried the f/2.8 Mark 3 16-35 and I’m sure it’s a beast in the field but the f/4 with Image Stabilization has helped my hit rate go even higher. In my opinion, the sharpness of the 16-35mm at f/4 rivals my prime lenses. Stopped down to 5.6 for group shots and I have a hard time figuring if it was my 50mm or the 16-35 when editing time comes. It’s also smaller, lighter, and much less expensive than the 16-35mm f2.8 Mark 3 on the used market. When the light goes really low at receptions, I just switch to my 24mm f1.4 Mark 2 for wide shots. “Your mileage may vary” as they say about camera gear but I’m really happy with this lens, it’s superb.

  • Canon 16-35mm f/4L Nails It

The Canon 16-35mm f/4L IS USM lens gets 95 out of 100 points from me. I used to own the mighty (and may I add, superior) Tamron 15-35mm lens before it got damaged, and I miss it. Before investing in the $1200 Tamron again though, I decided to try the Canon lens on my 5D Mark IV body and it's VERY nice. My only complaint is the barrel distortion at 16mm, which is even noticeable at 20mm. The image however is extremely clean, sharp, detailed and colorful. I appreciate its accuracy and lack of anything but a glorious image capacity. If you're in the market for this kind of high-caliber lens, it should be on your short list...along with the Tamron 15-35 and the Sigma 20mm ART lens.

  • Excellent lens

It took me a while to finally decide which lens to buy for landscape photography, it was this one and one with f2.8 III, but since it half price than other, and this one has image stabilization, I have purchased this one, and so far it is very good lens, sharp, fast and IS works great. Highly recommend this lens for others. Durable, weatherproof and takes amazing photos.
