Hey you! Yes, you-the one who just picked out this book. If you're looking for excitement, you've found it. But I hope you have a strong stomach. Parts of my story are t pretty. But there you have it. I'm t into a lot of buzz myself. I'm happy to shuffle one foot in front of the other, thank you very much. Not the adventurous type. Really. Somebody had other ideas. Somebody decided that I needed to have my whole world turned upside down. Somebody decided to pry my eyes open so I could see things that other kid has ever seen, things that are-to put it bluntly-crazy stupid. For example, I thought I lived with both feet planted firmly on Planet Earth. Wrong. Come to find out I have one foot on ather planet too, a planet called Shomara-and all at the same time. How's that? Yeah, you guessed it. I have spirit sight. Weird, right? Then there's the Blood Jewel. Again, I didn't ask for it, but I got it anyway. Woo hoo! What a rush. That's all I'll say about that for w. I decided to write down these fluky episodes, t because I think you'll believe me, but because I've discovered that this could happen to anybody. No, let me rephrase that. This IS happening to EVERYBODY. Every person on the earth is under the same curse. No duh. It's just that most people don't kw it. I've recorded what I remember as your heads up.

Author BiographyABOUT THE AUTHOR: Hello, Reader! Thanks for checking out my books. I hope you will enjoy the series. I am C. M. Henderson, Author of THE BLOOD JEWEL, Book I of The Shomara Diaries. My goal is to share my love of reading with you. To do that, you have to have a good book. That's why I love writing for kids. For starters, I used to be a kid myself. Okay, so that was back before Noah's Ark, but hey. Admit it. We're all kids Originally from Canada, I spent my first fourteen years in southern Ontario, the oldest of five children. My father was a junior high teacher and a school principal. Both my parents also loved to read. One of my favorite memories as a child was when the family would gather around Dad as he would read us Laughter Is the Best. We all ended up holding our sides and wiping tears of laughter. Though our house was a happy one, it was often a rackety, bustling affair. I yearned for peace and quiet. But there was never any retreat from the noise until one day . . . I read a book! All of a sudden, everything around me faded away. It was the BEST ESCAPE EVER! I could get so lost in a good novel that my mother was convinced she 'could run a freight train through the middle of the living room, and I wouldn't bat an eye.' She was probably right. When I wasn't practicing my piano lessons, I was reading. Books were my primary source of excitement in middle school. Through stories, I could run away to far-off countries and cultures, experience life through the eyes of heroes and heroines that became as real to me as my own family. As I got older, my love of reading never left. Though my career was in music - I taught both privately and in the public schools - I discovered, quite by accident, that I had a heart for writing. It happened like this. I needed a way to spice up some less-than-interesting classical music in my curriculum so I began jotting down little fables to read before introducing the listening pieces. The kids loved them - but my strategy backfired. My classes started refusing to hear the music unless Mrs. Henderson first read her story! Getting these books out has been a labor of love. But my greatest joy? My greatest joy is watching folks lose themselves in my fantasy world. There's nothing like it. Coming soon!!
