If you have a computer monitor (without speakers) and want to be able to use it with a chromecast ... look no further. It is easy to just plugin your chromecast to this, add some computer speakers and then plug into the monitor and you then have a new screen you can chromecast to. It does the job.
Upon buying this, i intended to use it to plug my headphones into the HDMI line as my screen does not have a port for it. While that works, I've found that the device often shows a purple hue over the screen when you first connect to it which can be fixed by switching the 2.1 to 5.1 switch. While it is a workaround, it is quite a nuisance to have to do EVERY time i turn on a connected console/device. In short, it works for the purpose i intended but it would have been better to invest in a higher quality extractor to suit my needs.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works as described, hard to get the setup wrong. Picture pass through is no loss of image quality. Haven't tested the sound quality, but seems to be good.... Enough to play stereo loud!! I got this to connect external speakers to a computer monitor that only has audio input, the HDMI source is from a PS4. So far I have noticed no loss in picture quality and the audio sounds great.
