  • Works better than other brands

I tried various SFP+ to RJ45 adapters for my UDM Pro router in order to get 10GbE to my computer. This was the only one that worked probably and gave me the full speeds for both upload and download. It does get a little warmer than the others, but overall works well. It even allows the UDM Pro to negotiate at 2.5GbE which isn't natively supported.

  • Module overheats and shuts down!

10Gbps is too much for a twisted pair SFP. They simply can’t dissipate the heat. My 850nm SFP+ modules run at around 30c. These were running at 60c+ causing the fans to run at full speed in my 16 port Mikrotik switch. Then these modules eventually stopped passing traffic.

  • Need 2.5gig or 5gig?

If your one of the people that bought a Wifi 6 or 6e router and you want to talk to it at 2.5gig then this is the module to buy. Have had two running for a month with no problems at all. Both in Mikrotik switches. Hard to find a SPF+ module like this with 6 speeds.
