Handy, lightweight, portable but streaky images
The Magic Wand scanner is very convenient being so small and light. The battery life is also good for the intended (occasional) use. I also loved the base and ended up using it more than I thought I would. However, be aware of the quality of the scans which is not just bad, but from a different era bad. The banding that affects the scanned images is very pronounced and also hard to correct as it's not easy to align the scanned files to any bias image.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

EXCELLENT HAND HELD SCANNER ! GREAT SCAN QUALITY !!
This is the first scanner I've owned. I wanted something portable that I could use on book pages. After figuring out how to use it, the image quality is excellent and easy to download to my laptop. When using the docking station to feed paper through it sometimes seems finnicky about taking the paper but it may just be me since I'm still learning. For the money you can't beat this unit. Easy to Set Up and Use!
I was pleasantly surprised when I received my VuPoint Solutions Scanner. It is a compact unit and easy to set up right out of the box. It makes very clear scans and I have used it successfully for about two months. Everything needed to get started is included right in the box so I didn't have to purchase anything extra. The only thing I wish was a little easier is the scanning to save to my laptop. Pulling out the micro SD card, inserting it into the micro SD adapter and finally putting the adapter card into my laptop slot is cumbersome. I find it is easier to scan a bunch of items over a couple of weeks and then upload all of them to my laptop. This works unless I need to have something immediately to email. It would be nice if the USB cord connection could send the scans directly to my laptop, without the hassle of moving the micro SD card. Overall, I am very happy with the scanner and am enjoying the convenience and ease of scanning that my all-in-one-printer/flatbed scanner does not have. I especially like the convenient carrying case (included) for transporting the Magic Wand portion of the unit to make portable scans.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Almost perfect
This portable scanner is great. Easy to test up and use. Very quick and easy to scan all those thousands of photos we have all accumulated. Photo size is irrelevant. Incredible desktop and portable option! I love having the dock on my desk and carrying the wand with my laptop on the go. I can grab quick scans on the fly- and drop it in the dock for heavy duty scanning to my computer. A couple suggestions
This unit worked with no hesitation but time for charging. It does a good job of scanning with the dock or freehand. I have found a couple things that help me. 1. The film protecting the screen of a monitor I had purchased helps when scanning scrapbooks or albums if placed over the pages that have possible impediments that might allow the scanner to catch. 2. A 3x5 card works as a carrier to run small items through the docked scanner. The largest drawback I have seen to date is that the scanner and computer software connection must be closed to scan.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
