Very effective, great addition to our heating system
These make our heating and ventilation (no AC in our house) much more efficient and effective. Our old thermostat was a Honeywell, and could only tell the temperature right where it was, in a hallway. So, useless. Now we have sensors in the house, and I can tell my Ecobee which sensors to check at which times of day -- Bedroom at night, living room and office during the day, etc. They also can detect when you are in the room, so they get more weight when people are detected than when it thinks the room is empty. As for their "quality", I can't really know until I've had them for a while. They certainly work fine now, when they're new. And for value, I was willing to spend $75 for two, but at retail price of $100 for two I would have hesitated.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

When they work they're great
This is a great product...when it allows you to activate it. I love the Ecobee room sensor. It allows balance of temperature throughout our house. We bought a package of two. One activated just as it was supposed to. The other will not accept activation. It simply refuses. Good not great
These sensors seem to be accurate overall but my biggest complaint is the polling intensity. I understand there is always a trade off between battery life and functionality but the “Follow Me” feature would be so much better if these sensors refreshed more frequently than every 15 minutes. I have one sensor in the kitchen, where we will quickly run in to grab a snack or drink but then go back downstairs. Because of this, the sensor always detects upstairs as occupied, even for short trips like I mentioned. Due to the layout of our house, no other room makes sense for this sensor or I would have moved it. Overall, I’m glad I got them as they help create a temperature average between our basement and upstairs for the thermostat to shoot for but I wish the polling intensity was adjustableVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Game changer at a cost
These ecobee temperature and motion sensors made a significant improvement in how our ecobee thermostat controls our new heat pump. We have a 3-story house and placing these additional sensors in addition to the thermostat and single sensor that came with it in two additional rooms and associating how those data should be used for home, away, and sleep has made the system far more efficient. They are much smaller that one might think from the photos and my wife even thinks they are cute. They work great, I can monitor all the house and see where are the problem spots within my house, that way my ac / heater unit doesn’t work overtime. Vastly improved build quality, does use an uncommon battery
These are much nicer than the original sensors, build quality is of a premium product vs the simple cheap construction it was before. Hopefully the new battery (unfortunately a less common size than the very standard cr2032) will last longer so requiring less frequent replacements. That’s the only downside is having to purchase different batteries. I’m not sure if they are more accurate or not but their price was the same as the previous generation and I wanted the wider scanning for movement since I put them in larger rooms.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works well so far. Price of the sensors are a little high for my taste.
Operates as expected. Does a good job regulating the three rooms that are monitored. If left alone the temps are usually within 1 to 2 degrees. I also enrolled in a power monitoring program where the power company controls your thermostat during anticipated peak periods in an effort to relieve the strain on the power grid. Pros 1. Gives feedback to thermostat regarding the temperature in another room and if that room is occupied. 2. Nice to see the actual temperature in the room the sensor is located (using the ecobee app).
