Totally .... UNSURE???
We own two small Burmese cats and the summer months are, our flea months. And, with persistent issues relating to animal flea infestation and the apparent lack of effectiveness with 'other' brands, our Vet recommended - Revolution. It is on this basis (only) that I recommend the product ie. Vet recommendation and the fact that no other product seemed to be working very well either. Despite this, Revolution (the product) from my point, of view seems hardly any better. I brush the cats daily, have purchased and used the Capstar product in an endeavour to kill whatever infestation is on them ... and repeat the process 7 days later to try and pick up flea egg/larvae. Yet, they still have fleas. I have shortened the 4 week Revolution cycle to 3 weeks however, no real effectiveness can be noted. In addition - I've now included in my armory, a Frontline Spray .... results though are still to be assessed These cats spend 99% of their time indoors & their beds are washed in soapy water regularly. So - my impression of the effectiveness of the Revolution product is somewhat marginal!!! I will however continue to use it and other products ... as to not do so, is not acceptable either. My suggestion - just be diligent ... probably keep using whatever product you have and keep doing it until the flea season abates ... Works in a jiffy.
First off I must admit I am very lazy with topical flea treatments for my cats. I worm, bathe, and brush 'em regularly... but not good with applying something monthly. Go figure! I caught a flea on one of them the other day and used Advocate topical treatment. They hate the stuff as it seems to sting their eyes. AND I still saw fleas, live and well, when I combed their fur out with a flea comb a few days later. That stuff isn't cheap, so naturally I was disappointed! I did some research and after reading the amazing reviews, decided to try Revolution. DO! NOT! REGRET! Once applied they did not constantly "blink" (as they did with Advocate).. and it was waterproof within a few hours meaning it stayed on. I was happy to find this product because having multiple vaccines, pills, drops - one for every possible problem - is way too tiring and confusing. Revolution makes it easy - one application solves nearly all health hazards. My cat never had a bad reaction to it, never brought flees ot ticks, never had any health problems. I guess it works. More than it seems
Have been using this on our mogs for a few years. Cat has only ever had 1 flea - they send him literally mad with agitation, so I know! As an added bonus I believe it also kills ticks. I have found ticks on him shrivelled & dried up. Recently I hadn't put any on him, but found a paralysis tick & he seemed quite unaffected by it, but still put some Revolution on just in case after removing the tick. My cats love it
cheaper than the "in-surgery" vet lines, that have a big mark up my cats would be lost without revolution. easy, convenient and quick to apply it takes care of all their possible itches in a single go. each application lasts well even on very active cats and is repeated monthly. I have found regular use helps prevent the need for more expensive and extensive treatments by killing off the cause before it takes hold. It's a REVOLUTION!
I have a long haired cat who used to harbour fleas,& the only way I could get rid of them was to administer him with capstar flea killer. It used to make him bite himself silly until they were dead. That was until I found REVOLUTION! Now all I need do is squeeze one small tube of it onto the back of his neck,& hey presto...NO more fleas!
