Every manufacturer tests their products. It's part of the process. Is there a need; how can we best fill the need; how bright a light; what color of light; what shape pattern is needed; which housing is best suited for the application?.
I got these as a pair of extra lights in a spot where u couldn't fit 6"+ lights.
The construction is very good, typical KC fair with nice metal, glass and rubber seals.
Mounting is on a holed bracket so you don't have to worry so much about lower clearance like you do with the post type lights.
Kit comes with fuse and wiring and weatherproof connectors at the lights as well as a switch, but no relay provision.
There only negative thought I have on these is that the lighting is not really all that spread/driving focused... It is more like a spot beam. Light is very narrow like a pencil beam almost, lens and reflector are both perfectly smooth instead of having diffusers like normal driving lights/spread beams.
Still for their size they are a nice complimentary light, but probably better suited to shoot corners for deer spotting etc than just driving duty.
These KC lights are really high quality. They are made well and came with all the accessories. These are good to serve as secondary lights. I wouldn’t use them as primary lights for off roaring as they are not bright enough but then again it’s a 4” light. I like em. They go with my vintage KC lights
Super-easy to install (hint: remove grille).
The small size blends well with the factory fog lights.
Compact enough to avoid that "Mickey Mouse" look like larger round lights do on top of a bull bar.
