About this product

Product Information

Rockstar Games' critically acclaimed series debuts on PS4 with upgraded graphics, wildlife, and a first-person perspective in "Grand Theft Auto V." Players take on three roles for the first time in this "GTA" entry. Michael is a retired bank robber dealing with his dysfunctional family. Franklin is a repo man trying to avoid the pitfalls of inner-city life. Trevor is a psychopathic, drug-addled hillbilly who lives alone in the desert. The main storyline finds all three characters working together. These "GTA" characters will perform a series of increasingly risky heists in Los Santos. Gamers will also head into the neighboring area of Blaine County to complete missions. Despite being a fictional city, Los Santos shares a lot of similarities with Los Angeles. Gamers draw up the robbery plan themselves in each heist. They decide which personnel to include from a list of "GTA" characters. You will choose whether to go in with guns blazing or take a stealthier approach. Players can freely switch between the main protagonists during heists. Each protagonist has a different role to play in any given mission. For example, one character is driving a getaway vehicle while another is sniping enemies from afar. When not on a heist in GTA for the PS4, you can experience a day in the life of any of these characters. At any time in this PlayStation 4 game, you can switch to a different character. When you switch, you'll get a glimpse of that character's lifestyle as you take control. Michael may be arguing with his wife while Trevor is causing chaos. Each character offers a different gaming experience for you to use to your advantage. Franklin is better behind the wheel of a car, while Trevor is better for using explosives. "Grand Theft Auto V" for the PlayStation 4 offers an open world that is five times the size of previous games like "San Andreas." Like past games, characters are free to explore the city at their leisure. You'll find stores in Los Santos you can enter and purchase clothing and weapons. Strip clubs and golf courses let your characters unwind. You can also take on side jobs like driving a taxi. You can even just relax at your home and watch videos on the television. This PlayStation title also offers an array of optional missions as well. Gamers will explore underwater wrecks and assassinate citizens for influential people in the city. Each mission unlocks new vehicles, weapons, and clothing items. There are over 60 hours of content in this PS4 title if you want the full experience. The developers at Rockstar Games placed a significant amount of emphasis on improving all aspects of gameplay in "Grand Theft Auto V" for the PlayStation. Rockstar Games have streamlined weapon management and targeting to make gun battles more fluid and enjoyable. Vehicle physics have been refined to make driving sequences feel more like a racing game. The PlayStation 4 version of the "Grand Theft Auto V" game includes new features, such as a first-person perspective. Multiplayer action returns to the franchise with the Grand Theft Auto Online mode. In this mode, gamers can join crews of friends to take on a variety of modes and missions. You can use accessories like headsets to speak directly to one another wirelessly. The Social Club feature will let you track your statistics. Like the previous games in this franchise, this GTA PS4 title earned of M from the ESRB. This rating is due to the sexual themes, violence, mature language, and alcohol use.

    Best on PS4

Great game. Had it on PC but much more enjoyable on PS4. Ive always been a fan of GTA because the open world maps and GTA V does not disappoint. PS4 version online better response times than PC (probably because PC has way more background data going on than PS4) and also it's nice to play on a TV sitting on the couch rather than a monitor at a desk. I know all that is highly subjective, but for those who don't want to spend time configuring a gaming PC setup in the living room, PS4, as does many consoles still seems to serve the purpose much better than PC. I do wish there was more modding capabilities in console versions, but trade offs right...

    GTA: Meh Edition

It's okay. Like GTA IV, it fails to live up to its pedigree. It's very pretty. The driving is fun and Los Santos is really well planned out. Unfortunately, the gameplay is stale. The story line is pretty much the worst Rockstar has ever delivered. The whole game is you controlling three characters who constantly fail to grow their criminal enterprise, and you, the player, are penalized by never making money for the missions you take them through until the very end. It's an exercise in frustration,a nd proof Rockstar's current devs don't understand the fundamental basics of good game design (INCENTIVIZE activity, don't inhibit or punish it). GTA Online is a total cesspool. It's the worst online mode of any game I've ever played, and I say that as a gamer who cut his teeth on the Atari 2600 in 1983. It's blatant pay to win, designed so that anyone trying to play without purchasing those silly in-game currency cards for real world money will be hobbled at every turn. It is populated by the worst variety of children who spend the entire time griefing others, speaking in language that would make an inner city gang member cringe, and leaving lobbies so that you fail your group missions by default. Rockstar only "updates" this mode in ways that defend the currency they're trying to sell you, never fixing the broken gameplay mechanics or dealing with the heinous social environment. Is it worth it for the single player? If you can get it under $20 and can tune out the story, you'll get your money's worth, but not a penny more. Fire up your classic PS2 and play San Andreas instead. You'll be happier in the end.

  • Very fun, realistic and never gets boring

grand theft auto is definitely worth its price. The game play is extremely fun and you feel like you are the characters because you have to deal with their problems and solve them with missions and specifically as Michael you get to meet his family so it feels more real. You can also choose different character you want to be so if you get tired of one character you get to switch it out. The heists are very well thought out and fun because you have to plan everything out, making it very realistic and since you have to split up into teams it makes it very fun. Online mode feels pretty similiar to the campaingn. Its still fun and entertaining but at times it feels there is no difference. If you can get a group of friends to play online the game is extremely fun and you'll be addicted. There are many different things you can do in Los Santos and many different challenges and missions you can play with your friends. This game never gets boring and I highly recommend it. Free roaming is a another option where you can run around and do whatever you want which is a very fun mode.

  • WHAT A DEAL. Great gameplay and lots of fun.

I bought this game *new and unopened* on Ebay for $32. Stores like Best Buy, etc sell it for $55-59 still. Yeah...I'm happy. The graphics are top notch on 4k TV. The gameplay is great. Smooth frames. For people that want to jump into multi-player right away (after completing the first Franklin mission), it is a very steep learning curve, especially if you think you're going to roll in there and clean house on other players. Play the story mode, familiarize yourself with the controls and methods of play. Otherwise, if you, with a presumably low rank off the get go, pick off a 100+ ranked player...you'll be promptly killed over and over. I can't boast. I'm still learning the game and get caught in the cross hairs quite a bit...but I don't care. It's a game and it's lots of fun. A lot of players will chill if you just back off and shoot them a message. If you're a poor sport, then your days will be long while playing this game. Remember to have fun and soak up all of the information that you can. Also remember that some days, you just can't win. It's no biggie. Jump into a different session and start over. Take a break, get back in there and get after it. It's a huge game and a great game. Enjoy.

  • Came with everything mentioned and in decent packaging. Game works fine, however, there is a little bit of damage on the game case, but I will not low

Came with everything mentioned and in decent packaging. Game works fine, however, there is a little bit of damage on the game case, but I will not lower my rating as this was outlined clearly in the photos.

  • Awesome game!

GTA never has been more then its namesake. Become a force to rid your life of joy riding by getting into a story that draws you in & keeps you guessing as to what crazy sh*t I can get into today. I have missed this title since GTA3. Welcome back!

  • GTA V review

The single player is one of the most entertaining in all of gaming with a lot of humor and plenty of things to do. Online however, is hard to recommend with it's prevalence of micro-transactions that make it impossible to enjoy yourself without spending large sums of real-world money. If it were a single-player only game, it would easily be 5 stars. Unfortunately, online exists.

  • The Cream of the Crop

The GTA series has always found a way to keep the same formula without letting it get stale. GTA V is an example of not only sticking to the formula but also elevating it to a new level of greatness. Fantastic graphics, great voice acting, hysterical dialogue and plenty, and I mean plenty, of stuff to do. A fantastic game and easily the best of the series.

  • It just keeps getting better

I played this game and loved it on the PS3. This new generation keeps getting better. Not only are there a ton of really good single player features, but PS4/XB1 continue to get excellent FREE updates to the online modes, making it a ton of fun. Definitely recommended for anyone that's not a kid.
