    R8000 fast but....

Overall, this router is faster than my old dlink 655. The range is about the same, but the wifi signals seem stronger so wireless devices connect at faster speeds. Seems to be a bug in the admin screen regarding the Internet connection. Says it's not connected but everything works as far as I can tell. Tech support thinks it's just a bug in the software displaying It incorrectly. It was easy to install and the addition of two 5Ghz radios helps with load balancing slower devices. Updated 2 pc's with AC wifi adapters and seeing 480 Mbps connect speeds. Pretty nice.

    Netgear Nighthawk X6 - AC3200 Tri-Band WiFi Router - Model R8000 - 4325 Netgear Nighthawk X6

This is the worst router I have ever purchased. Nothing has been simple with this router. Ive called tech support twice and on both occasions it was a struggle to understand the the foreigner who was helping me. I have no issue with someone from another country helping me provided they understand what I am saying. To top all the challenges I have had I read a story a few days ago stating that Negear has a huge security issue with their routers. Yesterday I receive an email from them with a patch but to install the patch you have to go to wwwrouterloginnet and every time I try no matter what browser I use I get a page that says: This site can't be reached. Well isn't that peachy! How am I supposed to update my security setting? I am now pursuing a refund!! Installing a router and doing the occasional update shouldn't be this difficult.

  • Very good, not perfect

I got this router to take advantage of its speed and increased range. I have not been disappointed with the speed, as it is a great improvement over the one it replaced. Range is another matter. I had hoped to get enough reach to eliminate the bridge router my long ranch house necessitates. Bristling with four antennas, it certainly suggests superior range. Instead, it barely reaches out further than the cheap model it replaced, so the bridge router had to stay. Setup was a bit of a problem. It had an address conflict with equipment elsewhere in the system which I had not encountered before. It gave no diagnostic help, and a visit to Netgear's support page was no help either. Just had to hack through it. Summary: buy it for the speed, not the range.

  • Had a hard time connecting it wirelessly, then figured it out works great so far

First, Trying to setup the router initially wirelessly was really hard. For some reason none of my devices would get internet. Then one would but the other ones wouldn't. Finally, after trying everything that I could find out online, I just reset the router. Then I hooked the router directly up to my laptop with the cable to do the setup. That was really simple and it worked fine after that. So If you purchase it, you might want to connect the router up to your laptop/pc with the cable for the initial installation. After it was finally installed I did a speedtest and got three times the speed of a recent Linksys router that I previously purchased. So it is fast!

  • It works really well for what we needed

I made an attempt to flash the firmware with Tomato, but ultimately just ended up updating the native Netgear firmware. It does what I need it to do very well and I use the 1 Gbps switch ports built-in with the Spectrum modem. Via wireless 802.11ac provides enough backwards compatibility for our needs. I paid $80 with shipping. It replaced an older Acer router we used that had 100 Mbps switch ports.

  • More than you need from a router

The signal strength is top notch. no dead spots in my house. I used to have problems with my wifi crapping out on me during xbox gaming sessions, with the nighthawk I never lose connectivity to the router. My isp sometimes screws me over by having a minor outage but even so I am still connected to the router. The ability to turn the lights on the top off turned out to be a fun feature. I keep the router on top of my tv entertainment system and can't see the lights anyways, so having them off stops the ceiling from glowing at night. Setup was super easy; I did it using my iphone. The netgenie app makes controlling your network a breeze for anyone who knows how to use a router and is easy enough to use that even someone unfamiliar with routers could figure it out with minimal time/effort. The downside is the size. This thing is big, and it can't be stood on it's side it has to lay flat. Visually It looks impressive, like the powerhouse it is. This could be a problem if you only have a small space to put the router in or don't want something that looks like it could become sentient at any moment and become the next skynet. Overall I am loving this product.

  • excellent router

Great router for today's connections. We have smart tvs, blurays, chromecast, laptop, mobile phones, firestick, Ring, printer, whole home audio and I'm sure a few other things I am forgetting that mostly connect via wifi. This router can handle all the devices and maintain high speeds. My last router a sub-$100 linksys seemed fine. I pay for 150mb speeds and was feeling disappointed in the actual throughput. I just chocked it up to today's marketing over-promising the actual speeds in the real world. I have done many speed tests and was getting 2-5mb speeds (down). Finally I decided to plug my computer directly into the laptop and run the test. I was surprised to see the speeds jump to about 50mb. Well, I knew then the router just can't give me the speeds I am paying for. I got this router and my downloads are much much faster. I don't have a speed test in front of me now, but I believe the wired connection is right at the 150 down, and wifi is is in the 70-100 down range.

  • After password issues (router not reset to factory) it worked great!

This router was used and the password was from the last user. The software is too automated and you can not just bypass GUI and type in your choices. After factory reset and telling my life story to a NEtgear database it works great.

  • What an AWESOME Router

I love the fact that it has the ability to put a usb hard drive off of it for Network Storage. It also allows for the system to backup using the same technology. The fact it broadcasts on two bands - 5 and 2.4. Plus you have guest networks on both bands too. Really Nice!!!

  • Seems to be Very Good..

Replaced an Arris TC862 for my Xfinity, with a Arris TM822 not realizing it had no built in router so I bought the AC3200 and I am streaming Amazon Prime, my echo, XBL Black ops3 without a glitch.. D/L speeds are a constant 75-90Mbps in a 1400 sq ft concrete one story home.. I am very happy with this new setup..
