I bought this new ipad mini to replace my old mini because the operating system was unsupported and some of my apps stopped working. Great marketing strategy by them. It is definitely quicker and has much more memory but other than that it is about the same. IPAD 4 was in great condition with little wear and a battery life of a new unit. I replaced an Ipad mini 1 and the speed difference was great. This is less than half a new one and as Apple comes out with one every year I thought this would be a great value and it was better than expected. Even better than I expected.
The description said the screen was cracked, and there was even a photo of a long horizontal crack across the screen, so I also ordered a glass mending kit. When the iPad came, however, I could barely see the crack, which is shown in the photo. As far as function is concerned, I naively thought I could use this device as a large-screen phone, and I easily installed a SIM card. BUT, to actually serve as a phone, the iPad must be paired with an iPhone; otherwise the only advantage of having a connection to a cellular network is that you can still be connected when you have no wifi. So it wasn't a necessary purchase, but I still like having a back-up iPad, especially one with so much memory (128GB), for under $200.
