Light weight and great features
Easy to use! Anyone not familiar with apple products can easily learn to use this laptop. I really appreciate the volume and other control buttons right on the keyboard its self. It is a Great computer for business, students. Anyone can get a lot of great use out of this light weight easy to carry about laptop. Functions OK but the exterior is far too slippery to safely handle.
A fine little computer, but it's outer shell puts "coolness" before function. Though thinner it doesn't feel much lighter than my previous MacBook that was housed in a plastic case, but its metal case is slippery as hell and hard to handle without dropping. A cover is available but I find it inconvenient to put it in a cover and take it out constantly as I put it in and out of my briefcase for transport and use at different locations. I am currently considering covering its slippery exterior with sticky-back rough skateboard top material to make it manageable. It won't look as pretty and cool but it will be far more safely manageable in transport. The solid state memory and hard drive (no CD spinning) increases battery duration between charges noticeably. Unfortunately this also required sacrificing enjoying CD movies, so it isn't as functional as my previous MacBooks. In summary I would have preferred a plastic case and CD drive, even if it meant more frequent battery charges. All-in-all a mixed bag in which function was satisfied for a pretty but slippery metal case and longer function between battery charges. ... Looks better than the pictures
As others have said, this is a great machine, and the price is awesome. It works great, and has no problems with stability or performance. There is a slight ding on the corner of the lid, but that's to be expected. Cosmetically, it looks *much* better than the example pictured. The computer shipped with Mavericks installed, but I wouldn't have used the provided OS, anyway. Did a boot from Internet Recovery Mode (Command (⌘) – Option (⌥) – R combination) and reinstalled Mavericks. Then went to the App Store, and got the free upgrade to Sierra. MacBook Air 2014. *Underrated*
This laptop may not be the best MacBook you can buy, but it's a pretty good one, the display is often talked upon but it still looks pretty nice to me. Amazing battery life and an extremely quiet and portable laptop, not the mention that classic design that Apple is known for. Perfect for students, casual gamers, and people that have to travel a lot. And with the SSD instead of a hard drive, lightning fast boot speeds. EXCELLENT deal & product
Except for the colorful wheel spinning perhaps a little too much, this Macbook Air is of excellent quality. One slightly dinged corner, otherwise looks brand new. Must of been owned by someone like me who had a hard plastic shell, & keyboard cover. It is the same computer that I killed, mid 2013. Wish I would not have purchased the Fair Trade insurance at $79 for a year, cuz after I purchased I was offered two years of Warranty for merely $36. Great product and still relevant
In a world where macs will run you thousands of dollars, this one is a nice option for less than half the price of new. The specs are pretty low but they still will work for light work, especially for the age and how popular cloud services are. The size is nice and portable so can really replace using a tablet if you wanted. Downside is that it certainly can't handle heavy workloads. Even basic flash games usually lag too much to really play. The space to store your own stuff is small but, as I said before, livable in this world of cloud services. The RAM though, that is rough. My memory usage regularly hangs around 50-80% usage, which can start to hang things up a bit. Don't plan on having a bunch of tabs open or too many programs. But you can get used to how to handle it easily enough. Overall, for the price you can get these at, paired with still being able to use the latest OS and being quick enough for the modern world, it's easily worth it. Somewhat short of perfect
While I am happy with my MacBook Air overall, I was naive to think the OSX 2016 meant it was a 2016 product. No, it only has a new 2016 hard drive on a older computer. I own a MacBook Pro still of about the same age. Two new hard drives and they have both failed. Happy though that I have a one year warranty.
