This system boosts the auto-focus speed, which allows for sharper more precise photos. The auto-focus also produces a low grain noise, meaning less pixelation. Great Portrait Lens
This is an excellent lens for portrait photography. It performs well in all the lighting situations I’ve tried it in so far. It seems to be well built. The one thing—that I would necessarily consider a downside, but should be mentioned— is that this is a fixed lens. Anyone used to a zoom lens will have a bit of trouble at first, and will need to back up frequently to find the right shot. Great lens at affordable price
First thing, this lens is rather big and heavy, not like its smaller brother, XF 35mm/F1.4 but most of its weigh comes from the lens which are large. The autofocus with X-T10 is ok, not terrible, not exceptional. But image sharpness is quite great. Even at wide open (F1.2), it's sharp. Expensive optically immaculate lens.
This is touted portrait prime lens for the Fuji X-Mount lineup. At an equivalent of 85mm in full frame (35mm format), and at aperture of 1.2 (effective 1.8 depth of field) it is an amazing lens. The build quality is supreme, a heavy metal lens with a tactile aperture ring and a metal focus ring. The optics are infallible, providing sharp images at the widest aperture (1.2). What's the drawback? Price. This portrait lens is built much better than any of the competition, but it does come with a cost. It is just over double the price of either Canon or Nikon's 85mm f1.8 primes. Overall, if you want the best portraits at the 85mm focal length equivalent for Fuji, this is the lens to go to. Love my Fujinon lenses
This is a very good lens. I was expecting or hoping for it to be as good as my 35mm f2 lens (which I love). Yet it is very good just not as good as that exceptional lens. It's not as fast as the 35mm. After using it for a couple of days and getting used to it and finding the camera setting that work best with this lens, I am now very happy with it, and have produced some very nice photos. It's a keeper.
