  • Sony focus problems

If you use this lens on the A7M2 and up the aperture smaller than F8, say F11-22 the camera can not be set to AFC or the lens will constantly hunt even though it reports it is in focus. It works great using AFA. You think Sony could have made a firmware update to correct this. This also happens with the NEW GM 24-70 at 24mm. The lens itself is fantastic, but probably not as good as the GM 16-35.

  • Sony 16-35 F4

At first I was apprehensive about the F4 aperture since most of my lenses are F 1.4 to F2.8 but after using it on my last vacation I am totally in love with this lens. For interior and landscape shots it’s perfect! The F4 aperture is even ok for low light. You just have to be steady. At half the cost of the G Master version was think this lens is an absolute buy!

  • Great price. Amazing Lens. I will be buying all my lenses new on eBay.

Great picture. Super sharp. Image stabilization is very good. Worth it! I was concerned about importing from hongkong but it was cheaper than used abd brand new in box.

  • Fantastic choice for 16-36mm range needs

in love with this lens. I was originally just looking for a really high quality wide or ultra-wide lens for landscape timelapse, but the versatility of the 16-35 range is amazing--and tack sharp throughout. Perfect walkaround lens--not too bulky to handle off-tripod like almost any sigma. And the OSS on top of the built-in stabilization with the a7iii makes video perform to an almost steadicam-smooth degree. Really gorgeous colors and superb sharpness. Only potential downside is the somewhat slow aperture, maxing open at 4. While not ideal for low lighting ISO can compensate and this aperture makes it extremely convenient to get almost everything in focus on every shot. It also can stay constant while zooming, huge plus for video. I've already used this for landscapes, street photography, event video, and even interviews where I want to show off the environment around the subject more. Highly recommend!

  • Good lens, bit heavy, expensive, missing barrel switches

Seems pretty good, a bit off centre in terms of corner sharpness. Gave it a low rating for value due to it's regular price. As an example, the comparable Canon lens can regularly be found on sale for $1250 (CDN) but this one goes for $1800 and they're comparable in quality. Four stars due to the slightly off-centre nature of the corners, it's heavier than I would like it to be, and the switches are missing to quickly turn the stabilizer on and off or to turn autofocus on or off. I didn't know how much I would miss those switches; much better than having to go into menus or set a custom button.

  • Awesome wide angle!

Heard there are some variances in these lenses that contribute to poor image quality and sharpness but seems like mine is pretty good. Sharp in the center with minimal falloff in the corners. Saved $1000 buying this lens oversees compared to locally in store so I'm very happy overall. Lens is well built but seems to be prone to scratches. Time will tell.

  • So good

It's an incredibly sharp lens. If I had to give it a critique -- I would say it's a bit heavy but the image quality makes us for the weight. The lens works very well with my Sony A7r and is excellent in low light.

  • Great travel Zoom

Lightweight and covering the needs for most landscape focal lengths, the lens will replace my go to wide angle to save weight and increase flexibility on long treks. Still won't completely replace my Distagon 15mm, it's not as sharp and lacks the feel and contrast of the Zeiss Distagon. A quality lens none the less!
