    Best thing for the price

Read reviews from some people that quick release doesn't work and scope won't mount tight. Push in on the axle of the quick release mechanism until the + shaped nut raises above the locking lever, tighten nut 1/4 turn and try. Repeat if still loose. do not run nut down so tight that you break the locking lever when locking it down. Be gentle. Scope works great at 100 yds add another IR light to your rail and you can see way farther than safe to shoot at night. This is a lot better than the stuff we had in the Army back in the 80's. For this price it can't be beat. It is a Gen. 1 , old technology but it works. If you want better be prepared to spend a whole lot more $. For what i paid I for it it's one great scope. Coyotees beware.

    Works, looks good

The unit works for its intended purpose and is like an IR flashlight bolted to an IR sensitive 3x scope. In total darkness the ground in front will be much brighter than the hillside a hundred yards away, but some animals eyes reflect the IR like in normal light so they are very easy to see. In moonlight the scope seems to work better without the illuminator turned on and makes a huge improvement over a bare scope. The pinhole cover is great for sighting in the scope in daylight, but the image is a bit grainy so if you have a small target it will barely be visible. Still possible to get it dialed in as the sun is setting and be ready for night predators. Overall this unit adds night utility to any rifle and is a lot better than nothing, and it is compatible with the standard AR rail so swapping the iron sights back on for day use takes about 30 seconds. A second illuminator helps it too.

  • Gen one night scope

The night scope is a good value for a Gen I but it is limited in range and use. I will save my money until I can buy a real night vision Gen III but this will have to work until then. You can see a limited amount at night with it. It is better than nothing and probably one of the better Gen I scopes. Your range is about 50 yards at night although 75 yards is possible but forget anything longer than that unless you have help with lighting. Hunting around and under trees is very limited maybe 50 yards max. The scope is a good value for the money but money is the limiting factor on seeing in the dark. Gen III is $3,000.00 on the low end and can easily go double that so spending $300.00 on Gen I is not all that bad to get you started but I would suggest don't go Gen II but save your money instead and go straight to III when you can.

  • Great night scope for around the Homestead

I mounted it on a Savage 93 22 magnum rifle. I had to purchase a different weaver base and mount the scope as far back as I possibly could. Once mounted anDC the quick disconnect set up I was out to the range to sight it in. It is accurate and repeatable, even when removed from the rifle via the quick disconnect. The gen 1+ is very good for what I need it for and the price is awesome

  • Night vision rifle scope

I realize this scope is a gen 1 but I am happy with it so far. I have not cited it in yet but have used it outside to check it out. I can tell you it is better than the NVG‘s that are used in the 80s in the military. I believe this is a Nice scope for the value.

  • Very good.

Works good during full moon. Works good during no moon conditions too. Very easy to spot eyes looking at you from over 100 yards. Quick detach works good if you manipulate it correctly. You dont lose your zero switching scopes. It weights alot so patrolling with it will make your arms strong. Doesnt use too much batteries. If you are planning on staying in the prone waiting on an objective. You gotta clear any obstructions like brush in front of you. Otherwise you cant see very far with the reflection. I would tape the front objective lens closed over as well as the quick detach lever. Just so if you are crawling nothing comes off.

  • Sturdy and compact

A breeze to sight in. Runs for hours with common AA batteries available everywhere. Who needs a power supply? What are pockets for? Built like a tank. Great level of contrast and luminosity. Uncomplicated, silent - no clicks -, take it out, put it back on and remains on target. Low frequency IR flashlight does not spook game. Great to bring home da bacon!

  • Good scope features at a good price, but it has to be able to stay on the rifle

Really like the features of the scope for the price, but the mount as per other reviews is cheap. It flew off the rifle the fourth shot, and now I'm trying to determine how to modify the mounting device.
