There are lots of mixed reviews

So before I was going to spend $300 on a wireless headset I needed to find out what other thought about them, I was a lot of very mixed reviews. I found the refurbished sale from "Best Buy" you can get them here on "best buy's" site some store location have them as well. Well first the "refub" does not come in a box and only have a 90 day warranty, not sure if I read than in the description but 90 days is too short to me. As for the headphones, They sound great. the noise cancellation kills out my old AC running in the background. normally during gameplay I would get up and shut the thing off. I can't hear a word my girlfriend is saying to me at all. you can toggle it on and off through a side switch. it takes about a week for you to learn all the positions of the buttons. volume control is easy and so is switching sound modes. there is a sports and movie mode as well. Bluetooth connection, I'm sort of mixed on this as when I'm playing I don't really want to talk on the phone. but the quality is great I can talk on my phone using these as a wireless headset and answer my phone during gameplay without removing them. The mic works great in game mode everyone hears me well and the mic has seperate modes for different room quietness or loudness. The issues I hear from people are: Terrible sound, Okay when I first used them the sound was flat, I realized I was still in surround sound mode in headset mode on my xbox one settings. The headphones need you to be in a specific mode and they sound great. (follow the instructions) Bad Mic Quality, Again the mic can be set for a loud room a quiet room or a normal room there is even an outdoor mode. Use the correct mode and the mic works great. okay now for the Con. I have a wide head, and the first 2 weeks I hated these things. after extended play they seem to conform to my head better, they are still a little tight but they are not as bad as when I first bought them. Overall I feel it's a well spent $200, I mean these are fully wireless and I would have forked over the $300 for the full year warranty.

Decent Gaming Headphones @ a Terribly Too High of Price.. Buying their name, and nothing like what they're bragging about..

I bought these very expensive headphones with great expectations for gaming on my Xbox One, and I was extremely disappointed with the sound, the complicated way of pairing, and if you barely touch them at all, it changes its setting or turns it off... They are worth $100, or less..!!! I paid over $200 for mine, and it makes me sick to look at them. I would have been pleased with them had they cost me $75.00.. Not for 3X that much...!! The battery life should be a lot longer, especially fresh out of the box..!! I don't recommend them for more than $100...!! They sound about that good, and would be worth their aggravation for that price.. My Sony's sound 10X better and they do MORE than they brag about.. The name Turtle Beach is ALL your money is buying... I hope this helps someone save a bunch of money...!!

  • Ear Force Elite 800x for Xbox One

So far these headphones are working perfectly with the XBOX one. To get the full experience I downloaded the Dolby Atmos app. I connected the wireless transmitter via the optical audio cables (also included) using the included instructions. The noise cancelling feature works great and the hidden microphones are a neat departure from the normal boom mic. All around a good buy.

  • These are awesome!

These are just about everything you could want in a pair of headphones, they have really great bass and you can change the settings so the highs aren't ear piercing. There are a ton of features and the sound quality is incredible, the noise cancelling is so awesome it blocks out almost everything. The batteries last a crazy long time and the only negative I had with them is due to my big ears making them a little uncomfortable after long periods of use but if you have smaller ears than me I think you'll love these!

  • Almost the ideal gaming headset

Benefits offered include simplicity and comfort in design from wearing to charging in a cradle, excellent sound quality from separately adjustable game and player volume and hidden microphone, noise cancellation and adjustable microphone gain for quiet to noisy rooms. The biggest and possibly only disappointment in this headset is that control buttons get accidentally pressed when moving around or even leaning against a headrest. This takes a little care and habit learning and it is worth it.

  • Quirky & Challenging

The Elite 800x is quirky......when it works, it’s great. It just looses it’s mind from time to time. Put it in the cradle to charge then pick it up the next day and have to reconfigure or pair. Steps are easy but, annoying. Was a real challenge to setup “chat” mode. Spent hours emailing back & forth with Turtle Bay. You would think for the price you pay for the Elite, they would have live chat or at the least telephone support.

  • Awesome headphones but always break

I have had several different turtle beach headphones and all of them eventually break before they go out of date. I have been playing video games for around 30years and I’ve been using turtle beach since COD4. They are always excellent in the hearing of other players and gives you a leading edge on them. I may try the Astro’s next time as this is my second pair of 800x elite. These headphones are also notoriously giving me high pitch noises

  • comfy mic, wireless, good sound, bluetooth enabled, easy setup. only worry is that the hardware lasts me a long time and does not break.

So far so good, i love everything about this mic. My only fear is that the earpiece swivel on this same model broke apart. But i loved this mic so much that i bought them again hoping things will be different this time around.

  • Great sounding headphones

A friend I work with recommended I purchase the headphones. I was skeptical about buying them after reading some peoples reviews, but I went ahead and bought a set. I feel this is the best product for the price I paid. (Refurb) It was a second hand sell, a few light blemishes but works amazing. Of course theres the small bluetooth hissing sound when nothing is played. Id say thats normal and it doesn't bother me. But the sounds that come from these speakers, for a bluetooth are amazing. I cant compliment how good it sounds. Bass hits sound like you're in front of the speaker at a concert with correct settings and sound preferences. With the multiple settings and noise canceling I would recommend these to anyone looking for a very good set of headphones, gaming, music, dj maybe? Either way if you want a good comfortable fitting headphone with no wires attached to a controller, pc, or even your phone. I would recommend you try these out.

  • Great headset but buttons too sensitive.

As the title says also the voice that notifies you of what preset in or turning off/on of features needs it's own volume control. I personally find it too loud.
