A decent action figure.
Overlord for those who don’t know, was a decepticon leader, from the original Generation 1 toy line, who was never released in America, only in Japan, and later Europe. He appeared in the Anime “Transformers Masterforce”, he would battle a kind of sort of Powermaster Optimus Prime. This isn’t a bad action figure. It’s far from it, it has a few problems, though compared to others, it’s still stands up pretty well. The only problems I encountered with mine were that the figure suffers from loose joints in the shoulders, they will hold a pose, though if you’re moving it back in forth, it won’t keep the pose for long, and this was fresh out of the box. Otherwise the joints are fairly tight. The paint has slight issue, the colors look great, it’s that the paint can rub off in certain parts. The biggest sign of this I’ve seen was the paint on the handle of his gun, rubbed off while I was removing it from its place in Overlord’s tank mode. Of course it was a very tight fit, and I was afraid it would break if I wasn’t careful. otherwise, it’s accurate to the original toy, with each mode of this figure being based on or a direct representation of what the original toy could do. There are even subtle nods to the original’s unique use of having two powermasters to transform. The headmaster version here, is unique, and allows for joke “headswapping” for those who would want to do that. And if someone would like, could leave the head in place during the transformation, the only problem with it, is you don’t have a pilot for the tank or jet modes. I like this one, it looks good on display, especially if you have a Powermaster Optimus Prime, who could fill in for the character he fought in the Anime, which he comes from.
