Good value starter; playable and pretty
I had looked around the shops for a decent starter guitar for my 8 year old nephew but couldn't find anything decent for under £100. This guitar had some mixed reviews, but the good reviews came from teachers and guitar players so I took a punt. It's pretty good construction-wise and it's attractive too. Doesn't look or feel cheap and looks like it can take a few knocks. The strings, like all new strings took a while to settle, but the low price enabled me to add a case, stand and, importantly, a tuner to the gift set so it's a doddle for re-tune. When I started learning back in the 80s, the mantra was get something cheap, in case of lack of interest. but back then cheap guitars were really bad and quite the disincentive.
