This model is adequate for a beginning builder. It's pretty simple and the swinging wing feature works well. Fit of the engine inlets is poor requiring considerable fill. The cockpit is primitive and without detail. The instrument panel is a simple black decal. The Russian instrument panels we never black (grey today and light blue in the Soviet era). The canopy was poorly moulded and I wound up purchasing a second kit to get an acceptable canopy.
This models depicts a very early MiG-27 with a simple nose. I kitbashed the cockpit with PE seat and instrument panel from a MiG-23 (not exact but the same vintage and airframe) and modified the nose with the two optical sensors and ranging radar found on most MiG-26's.
