Perfect size with a strudy lid
The shape is perfect for a whole stick of butter. The top is very sturdy and stays in the groove so it does not slip off. The only thing I would change is to put some etchings or cuts in the glass so it isn't so slick when you wash it or if you get butter on the lid. Poor Handle, Very slippery
The dish does a good job of what it is intended to do. Only 3 stars because the handles as illustrated indicates a narrower waist than is the reality. One needs to have extremely clean and dry hands (not the usual for kitchen use or even at the table) to pickup the cover to avoid it slipping and as often happens becoming broken. Butter dish HAS IT ALL!!!
We bought a butter dish that uses the 'eastern states' smaller butter size, well in the PNW we use normal butter sizes, and this is the BOMB! This is a really nice butter dish... both in looks and construction. Most importantly, the lid has a handle that can be managed by all.
