About this product

Product Information

The Rodeo NTG-2 microphone serves as a condenser cable professional microphone for stage performances. Incoming sounds are emitted clearly with the integration of the supercardioid polar pattern and a strategically made front capsule. A 1.5-volt power source is maintained internally for the Rodeo microphone by AA batteries. With a weight of only 5 oz, it can be held in the hand of the user for extended periods of time without tiring. The enclosure of the Rodeo NTG-2 microphone is all metal, but it maintains a lightweight stature. Special technologies have been implemented into the design of this Rodeo microphone, providing enhanced vocal sound quality and minimal background noise intrusion. As a professional microphone, this particular Rodeo microphone offers an outbound impedance of 250 Ohms, a low sensitivity of 36 dB, a minimum frequency response of 20 Hz, a maximum frequency response of 20 kHz, and three-pin XLR balanced output connectors.

  • Great entry level shotgun microfone

Affordable, reliable, lightweight, easy to use and having 48v or AA batterie powering options makes that Rode mix an interesting option for entry level audio professionals or videomakers. Good sound quality, low noise and flexible to fit boompoles or direct to cameras.

  • Can't get a better mic for price

NTG-1 is the best bang for the buck on the market. It's the first tier of pro quality boom microphones. You cannot really get a legit mic that's not for camcorders until you go over $200 and there you are-- Rode NTG1 and there's really no competition. The sound quality is excellent, it's good enough for TV or a film, a live music performance.

  • Great Mic! Low output though

The AA battery this mic takes provides enough power to the output for a DSLR input, but not enough for a field recorder. The field recorder used with this otherwise would need phantom power and good pre amps connected through XLR connection only (not trs). It's said that the zoom H4n is not a good pairing with this mic. If building a field setup, I'd suggest pairing the NTG2 with a fostex fr2 or a tascam 60d mkii. This being said, it is great value and a solid microphone otherwise.

  • great mic, horrible windscreen

you really can't go wrong w/ the rode ntg-2 for professional audio field recordings, but do yourself a favor and buy the fluffy rode muff designed for the mic and toss that foam POS out w/ this week's trash

  • Great quality, at a great price!

As a beginning audio producer, I need equipment that is relatively easy to use, without much of complicated learning curve. This is just such a wonderful and professional audio tool!

  • good

the mic is really good and useful but does capture a lot of background talking from 10 feet away and has a bit of a room tone hiss which is a little annoying but better than my tacstar thats forsure

  • Solid Workhorse Mic

Bought this due to the amount of youtube videos and reviews raving that it is a decent mic to start with for film-audio and voice overs. I havent put it through too many scenarios yet but overall it has been an overall clean and clear mic.

  • Great Product

Great Product. I use it with a Zoom H6. It does record a little TOO much room noise for me but that's probably just my expertise level talking. Works Great tho! And so does the Lav Mic.
