    PowerLINE Internet is a Dream!!!

The Netgear PowerLINE 1000 (PLW1000) is everything it says it is. Don't bother with WiFi Extenders that only relay the signal. The PowerLINE WiFi & Ethernet systems turn your whole houses electrical system into a Internet conduit. Once its set up properly, It doesn't matter how far away you plug in these Adapters from your ISP's router... it will give you just as strong a signal as the ISP's original router source. These systems are a No-Brainer! If you get this item and you CANT get it to work as I say then its most likely because you did not set it up correctly, or of course the possibility that its a defect/broken item. If you have allot of issues with WiFi dead spots and your trying to accommodate a family that is using the homes internet in multiple rooms for streaming/Gaming/Browsing/Uploading & Downloading then this will be your dream solution as it has been mine. Trust Me ;) ...and remember, you can buy up to 8 of these adapters and set them up all over your house with your same Internet Network and customize it as you want by login into your NetGears Server Admin Browser (The Step by Step for everything is all in the manual)

Does not work with AFCI or GFCI

CAUTION: I have read several reviews that say this product may not work if your wiring is too old. Here's the kick in the nuts: It definitely won't work if your house wiring to too NEW!! New houses and renovations are going to comply with NEC 2104 or later (if done legally). Since the 2014 edition, the Code requires AFCI breakers for virtually all indoor circuits. Exceptions still require a GFCI circuit. This product does not work with AFCI or GFCI. (There are some reports that it might work with AFCI breakers that are not the Siemens brand, but that is exactly what I have.) If you have a non-Siemens combination AFCI/GFCI breaker or an AFCI breaker with a GFCI receptacle, you're still screwed. Finally, in my case I need the transmitter and the receiver in different parts of the house where the respective circuits are on two different panels. Again, screwed, even when I swapped to regular old-school breakers. Circuits need to be on the same panel. It does works if the transmitter and receiver are on the same circuit, even if that circuit is AFCI. But the idea is to extend your WiFi reach to a different part of the house. Any house that needs to have a WiFi extender is going to be too large to have only one circuit for all receptacles.

  • Improved connectivity

Overall I'm satisfied with this product. I have improved wired and wireless connectivity for the more remote parts of my house. Concerns: I needed to reboot the extension 2x over 3 weeks, not sure why: perhaps something to do with my electric wires or power flux? Formerly I had two SSIDs: one at 2.4G one at 5G. With my extender I named two more SSIDs with 2 more passwords. So I now have options to connect to 4 different SSIDs. Wondering if it's better to retain the 2 old/existing SSIDs, and their passwords, and use them for my 2 new extensions? Would this allow for seamless connections as I move my mobile internet devices through the house or cause confusion as to which SSID I am on (new or old SSID)? Anyway, I'm glad I purchased this product.

  • Netgear Powerline Wifi 1000 - Works

Easy setup, plug, and play. I was really worried about running Cat5 cable from one floor of my house to my office upstairs. No, this product did the trick and I am not connected with Cat5 to my Laptop and Server.

  • Great product

I needed one more of these ports to add downstairs in the basement where wifi was poor. Such a good solution. Works very well. Unit was in perfect condition and worked right out of the box.

  • Weak internet in your home?

If you are like me and your WiFi doesn't quite reach all the rooms in your home, try the Powerline WiFi 1000. I tried a couple of WiFi extenders with no success in my home. I have a full stone wall that it just couldn't penetrate. When I tried the PowerLine unit I was amazed. It's provides the same power in the back of my home now as in the front where the router is located because the signal is transferred through the current wiring in my home, not via space which is blocked by the stone. I am infinitely pleased!

  • Definitely Worth The Money!

I was made a suggestion by a IT Technician to go and give the NETGEAR Powerline a try. I have been dealing with dropped signals for a few years. Did the new router thing and got very little improvement. The walls just block signals. I plugged this in and followed simple direction. I now have my speed and no dropped connections. Thank You!

  • Good Product

A pretty good product - just a little tricky to set it up. You have to go to the item's web site to get the complete instructions. Great for getting your internet/ethernet to the opposite corner of the house. This model I received has a 433 Mbps wifi output, not 1000 Mbps.

  • Works well--but--not with more than two hotspots

I was able to conquer the deadspots in my home (and backyard!) using this machine. I have the input coming out of my ATT Gigapower gateway, and I have one outlet upstairs, and one downstairs. However, I tried to put a third unit on the third story of the home--and then the signal went to hell in a handbasket and could no longer acquire an IP address from any of the units. I removed the third unit, and it worked again. (Note: The documentation says up to 8 connections will work..)

  • Good for remote access.

Was easy to setup and was used to get internet access in my detached garage. Must be plugged into a receptacle and not a power strip..
