Good sharpener, but a little on the pricey side
I will state up front that this is my first knife sharpener. The edge created is sharp and does the job, but I would have liked to see the resulting edge free of the burr after multiple passes through the final honing process. Maybe I didn't make enough passes, or maybe you can't get rid of that final burr. Another thing is the edge created is not a smooth polished surface like I expected. The grinding marks created by the diamond wheels can still be seen. I followed the instructions to the tee. It could be possible that since the new angle requires taking off a significant amount of metal that the marks left may be removed during following sharpening sessions. Disappointed
The unit was used and it was presented as new open box. That is not true. The unit works ok, just needs a new plastic top since it was cut by the previous owner. Improvement over early models
I have owned and used Chef's Choice fir many years but decided to update to newer model. This one does better job on straight blades, but real benefit is on serrated blades. Much improved cutting with any blade I tried after sharpening with this model!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Everything reviews say is true!!
This machine does exactly what it says it does. There is not a dull knife in my house any more. Absolutely razor sharp edges accomplished with a little patience.
