Great value for money
Despite the novelty design with big "BG" letters on the handle, do not be fooled, this a quality made knife from Gerber. The orange colour is actually very practical and helps to quickly identify where the knife is, if accidentally placed. As an average sized woman, with small- medium sized hands, the knife feels and fits comfortably in my hand. Men would have no problem in this area. The handle feels very grippy and does not slip. I took the lanyard whistle off the knife as it got in the way when using it and tied it onto the fire steel instead.
I recently went camping and took this knife along, not only did it cut through fishing line and paracord like butter but made beautiful feather sticks and I got a fire started with the built-in fire steel too. (A larger fire steel is much easier to light a fire with but this will easily light a fire in a survival situation or if your primary fire making tools fail). The knife handled batoning wood well (as a test) but I'd recommend an axe for heavy wood processing tasks. The built in sharpener is handy and gets the blade back to being relatively sharp - sharp enough to carry out most tasks. I recommend stropping first with a leather belt if you want to do finer bushcraft tasks like making feather sticks. The sheath looks and feels well made, you don't need to worry about your knife falling out. I do wish the sheath was a little smaller though, it can feel a little bulky at times. The knife is solid and durable yet the whole kit on your belt doesn't feel like it constantly weighs you down when you're walking/fishing/camping. Pica Deal had the best price, the knife arrived pretty quickly and packaged well.
All up 5 stars - this is great value for money for someone who wants an all rounder knife for outdoor adventures!
