The Kelley's home network just got a huge upgrade!

We are a family of six with cellphones, laptops, tablets and movies to stream. "Dad... why is the network so slow?". "Dad the TV is doing it again..." It was time for an upgrade and the Nighthawk x10 was just what the doctor ordered. I did my homework and this router is a beast! Having both 2.4G channels and 5G channels that can be assigned and prioritized is the bomb. Did I mention the 60G capability for future devices? Yes it has that too. It has access to save files to the cloud or attach a drive to it and you can keep them on it and then share with your extended family over the network. Are you a savvy movie person? Save to your drive and share them with PLEX software. It's included! It's easy to use software had us up and running in no time. Did I mention the always nice to have parental controls? Rachel.. it's time to go to bed.. Oh wait I can set the router to turn of access for her ipod at 9pm. Problem solved. This router even has a separate network for guest access with a password. We are now secure! Everything is streaming and no one is complaining. Life is good. Thanks Netgear!

Very nice, but not exactly what I needed at home.

Solidly built router with plenty of processing power and speed. I love the fact that it has the SFP+ port for 10 Gb fiber connection to a NAS device, even though that is something that I might never have purchased for my home. Unfortunately, the parental controls did not do what I needed them to do. Individual devices could not be blocked on different schedules, and traffic could not be limited by type (streaming media, for example, to limit endless YouTube access by younger family members). Also, the schedule for the wireless radio could not be set differently for each day of the week. I found all of these features in an Asus router, which isn't as high-end, but has the control I needed for my home environment.

  • Best router Ive ever had

Our Internet service provider spectrum and the modem and router they provided could not broadcast Internet throughout my house even with three extension boxes.(extra cost) I purchased this router and I now have a blazing speed fast Internet throughout the house. The app to install it was a bit cranky but the Netgear Genie program was able to figure it out and got it installed. I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend this router to anyone. It wasn't cheap, but at least I have fast and consistent Internet now😜

  • Skeptic proved wrong.

I was initially a bit skeptical, “how much could a router really impact WiFi speeds?” But I have been blown away by this hardware. Beyond providing top-end speeds via WiFi, the signal is consistent enough to compare to a wired setup. Basically a future proof router, if you have the pockets.

  • Works Flawlessly Anywhere Even In A 112 Year Old Home

We've had terrible time with internet since we first bought the house 9 years ago. We're told that it would be impossible do you have internet throughout this three-story house unless we got it wired. This product resolves all of the problems we have had, slow internet, lost signals, no signal downstairs or even in the room next to the old router. Using the internet is now a dream, not a nightmare like it was with the old routers. Now we can use the internet from anywhere in the house. Strongly recommended. Well worth the cost.

  • Netgear Nighthawk X10 R9000

This wifi router is smokin' fast and just as expensive. The value is a longer term strategy, this unit will accommodate the next 2-3 generations of Internet carrier speeds, up to 5-10 GB/sec, so the Nighthawk X10 is the fastest now and saves someone the need to buy 1-2 higher speed wifi routers. Remember to buy correct cables, CAT 5e minimum or CAT 6.

  • Netgear X10

One of the best routers on the market! You want the best, then buy this router! The features are great! I have had this router about a month and can not even slightly have any complaints. It is a work horse with a ton of features. Easy setup plug and go. I have a huge house with, count them, 7 people with phones and multiple computers and laptops! We also have 2 Xbox ones and 2 PS4's and all are heavy gamers! Only one xbox is hard wired everything else in the house is wireless. We have a Comcast package of 250mbps down and NO lag in the house. Not even when we are all online. I am thoroughly impressed with this router! Not to mention I also have a Plex server with 4tb attached to this router and even with Plex transcoding there is still no buffering! The pricetag maybe hefty but this router can handle it and then some. You will not be disappointed after paying the initial large sum. I could not be more ecstatic with this router. But it you will not be disappointed!

  • Upgraded Netgear

I have had Netgear routers for many years. I decided to read all reviews and choose an upgrade that would be able to stream 4K video better than my 5 year old model... The X-10 turned out to be my choice... Although a bit pricey, I wanted to make sure the new one had enough speed/power to handle all of our devices, even when family is visiting, which can easily exceed 10 at once... It has turned out to be a good choice... It streams 4k easily, even while my 3 kids and my wife are all on their ipads... I highly recommend it...

  • Its Quick... Very Quick

Have great signal in parts of the house where there was no signal before. It is very fast - our cable co advertises 100mbps, but we are getting about 115mbps on wireless. Best I ever did with our old wireless router was about 60mbps. Took awhile to get the NIghthawk to play nice with the cable modem. Finally unplugged everything for a couple of hours and all was well after that. Grandsons are gamers and love it.
