Handy action camera but not without downsides.
First things first, we'll talk about the downsides. Image quality can get a bit lackluster in low light conditions and image stabilisation is better than previous iterations but still needs a bit of work. The Android app still won't sync with the Camera despite multiple updates, disappointing that you need to make an account just to sync a camera to your phone; this is 2016, GoPro get with the program please. Now the positives, it's definitely very lightweight with a great number of accessories and mounts available to it. The fact that it shoots 1080P 60FPS and 4K at 30FPS is pretty impressive for a camera of this size and the image quality isn't so bad when you're outdoors on a nice day; that's when you'll be using this thing anyway most of the time. It's a good fun camera that ticks some of the boxes but the execution definitely isn't perfect which is kind of disappointing from such a well-established company.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Need to be returned to GoPro within 2 months
We purchased this for our son to take on his Christmas Canadian holiday. Thought we will go with a good brand and a good model so as not to ruin his holiday! Well it broke down within 2 months. After lots of issues with GoPro, Sending the receipt twice, then having to pay for postage to the manufacturer, then having to follow up for 2 months, Thank heavens for postal tracking & signatures, he has finally got his replacement 4 months later!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Updatet from hero 3 to hero 5
Overall very happy with my new GoPro. Bought it mainly for its stills capabilities, particularly like the RAW files which can yield very good results. It would've been nice to make this available through all the view modes as well, ie linear, medium and narrow fields of view. However using protune in these other modes yields good results. Also impressed by its ability to record bright highlights and shadow detail in the WDR mode. Love the voice control which is quite usable. Pretty Good!
Good but battery charge doesn’t last long, file transfer speed is slow and can’t cord connect to iPhone. Also you only get basic features on the app unless you pay. You need a newer model (I think) if you want to live stream from the cam. If you buying this second hand, as most would be now, it’s worth getting one with extra batteries and mounts etc or you’ll end up having to buy these separately. It’s worth buying 2nd hand as so many people with too much money buy the latest and never use them, so you’ll pick up a bargain and it’s does much the same as the newer models.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Battery too short and Touch screen not responsive

Gopro 5 hype
I have moved from the hero 4 silver which was an amazing little camera. The hero 5 has a great user interface but the battery life is still an issue. The Yii 4k leaves it for dead on battery life. If you are a hero 4 user and don't need the waterproof all in one, I would stick with tje hero 4 as there is not a huge difference in picture quality.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

So easy to use! Fantastic picture quality! The Capture App is great - especially if using the camera on a helmet mount when you can't see the camera screen. Underwater shots are clear. Only had it a month or so. Already taken it swimming in the ocean and skiing in Japan. AWESOME! So easy to make shots/clips into movies using iMovie (Apple).
