simple and bulletproof reel
I've had the exact same reel for 11 years and it still looks and works like it is new. I've used it on a 12' surf rod and a 6' boat rod and landed sharks, rays and plenty of other monsters with this reel. l only bought this new one because l heard penn have discontinued making them. Great reel, getting hard to find!
I have owned a 650ssm and an 850ssm for at least five years and they have been bullet proof! I thought I'd like the higher line capacity of the 950ssm, but since Penn discontinued them, they are becoming hard to find. Price + shipping fit my budget, so I jumped on it!
