You won’t have to splice any coolant lines since the temperature sensor easily mounts in-between your radiator’s cooling fins, and getting your new fan up and running is easy with the included wiring harness and low 30-watt power draw.
I purchased the Trail Tech digital radiator fan for my Honda CRF 450RX. Even though l use Engine Ice in my bike, the engine seemed to run very hot (constantly over 200 degrees when riding tight single track) so l wanted to get a cooling fan.
I also own a Honda CRF 450X and purchased a Trail Tech radiator fan for that bike last year. The installation on the 450X was extremely easy and just bolted right on. The installation on the 450RX was a little more complicated and involved since it required you to drill two small holes using an 11/64 drill bit in the radiator tabs as well as having a torques bit for attaching the mounting bracket. Luckily l had both tools on hand.
When l went out riding this past weekend, the radiator fan turned on every time the temperature got to 200 degrees (which is the temp l set it to activate at). It worked great and accomplished the task l purchased it for.
Piece of pie to install... Would have been easier if my radiator wasn't bent a little already. I set it for 200 and I've only been on one easy ride since. Most I got was 165. We will see.
