A nice find
The radio functions well and sounds great. The only thing I wish I had looked at more closely is the fact that this is just a radio. Would have liked it more if it played cds but I worked it out . I bought another brand stand alone cd player and plugged it into the auxilliary portion of the Bose radio, Another thing that might be nice is the remote but I'll get one later. My radio was repaired but no longer has ...
My radio was repaired but no longer has battery back up due to the new board that is installed. I was told to use a 9v battery but it does not fit and the battery cover will not fit. Again my radio works like new but I would have liked to have know in advance I was loosing the battery back up. They also fixed my display which was a plus. They did do good work on the repair. Older Bose Wave Radio Still works Great
I like the Bose Wave Radio features. The fact that they have backup batteries to keep the clock going and the settings held in case of a power outage is great. Also the fact that the clock automatically dims and brightens based on the room lighting is great. The radios sound very good too. This is a great product. I ordered a brand new Bose at Christmas but sent it back because the quality was not as good as the older ones, primarily the volume of sound. The newer ones will not go as high as the older ones, in my opinion. Bose Wave Radio AWR1-1W Review
We had one in an office I worked at over a decade ago. I always liked the sound of it and I needed something small for my home office / man cave. There isn't room for a component system and I didn't want the visual clutter of one anyway. The Bose unit is very nice looking and the first gen are well priced used. It came with a remote for a Bose Wave Radio w/CD player and the seller said he couldn't guarantee the remote worked. I put a new battery in the remote and it didn't work. I looked around and on the Bose site saw they had the best prices and selection of remotes. I got the one for the Wave Radio without CD player for $15 and it works perfectly. I think the remotes for the CD and non-CD version aren't compatible. As far as the sound - it's good and will fill the room as loud as I dare, and sounds good at low volumes as well. Like many reviewers, I wish it had bass and treble controls, but the sound is fine. I'm totally sure that if I had a component system or a larger boombox I might get better sound, but this was $100, looks great, is all one small unit and puts out a pleasant big stereo sound. To make it more versatile, I purchased a bluetooth receiver and plugged it into the AUX port on the back. Now I mainly stream Pandora, Spotify and YouTube through it. I paid about $25 for the bluetooth receiver on Amazon (Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter for Bluetooth Streaming). I have it sitting on a small mahogany end table and it looks as sharp as can be.

Sound great. Display poor.
The product works as expected (CD and Radio). However, the display is very light and impossible to read from any distance. Best deal I ever bought off ebay
Fantastic buy. I was worried buying a Bose used radio was a giant risk, however, it turned out to be the best deal I have gotten in a long time. This Bose had a remote, which what important. Now every time I walk out in the kitchen, where the radio is, I throw my hands in the hair and say" I just love my radio", no static, no interference, no losing a signal, but a great radio. Thank you. The only thing I was concerned about is that I made an offer of $84 and with shipping I was charged PayPal $113, don't know about that.
