Best starting camera that isn't an a6500
Excellent starter camera. But I wish I sprung for an a6500 for the touch screen focusing. I have nothing but praise for the camera, it's simple, configurable in all the right ways, and very flexible. The only thing I've ever really missed on it was an external mic jack, as the compatible hot shoe mics don't seem much better. Moving the little bracket around to spot focus is really challenging at times, and has definitely cost me quite a few shots, and I frequently wish I was able to just tap the screen. but when I was buying my camera and lenses, I wanted to save the money, now that I know I'll enjoy using DSLR's I wish I'd sprung. Make sure you buy a set of batteries and external charger!
