This is as good as Streaming Media gets.

I have a smart TV and a Google Chromecast. Since I purchased this I use neither. The intuitive interface and the ability to easily pull all of your media operation into one easy to use menu is perfection. The set up was so easy I actually asked myself a couple of times "wait.. how did it know?" The fact that is runs on an open sourced operation system such as Android ensures that this will be my go to well into the future. WELL worth the money.

  • Top critical review

    Okay so far BUT..

Works but constantly reverts to contrary operations. Alexa is too stupid to help at all. It can't understand what you want even when you speak in clear English language. Setup was complicated and the cable company had to send me a password reset because it just didn't get the first installation on my PC down right. The PC was easy with the app we use, but the Fire stick had its own mind about what was the right security apparently. Everyone said how easy it is supposed to be, but I'm a IT tech and this was NOT that easy! I wonder if I should have gone to the Android solution.

  • Thoroughly functional

It works flawlessly right out of the "box," all you need to do is plug it in and put batteries in the remote. It provides an output resolution that's even better than my projector can handle. Many apps are available for download and installation, all done with the remote. Very well packaged, almost to the point of being excessive—each item in its own little compartment in a black cardboard insert that looks like an advanced origami project. With two Fire Sticks in the house and an occasional hiccup during streaming, I can't help wishing there was an on/off switch or a reset button, but there isn't. If it freezes you have to unplug the USB power and then plug it back in. It would also be nice if the speech recognition software would allow you to spell words into the search function, because punching in words letter by letter with the remote is tedious at best. Maybe that will come in a later iteration.

  • Well worth the money!

Hey. So the stick was a little tricky to get set up because the directions were not how I finally got the thing to mate with my Panasonic tv. Once I got past figuring out how to do that part everything was zip-zip. I have access to everything a Smart-TV has on it. I haven't figured out how to use Alexa to control the remote completely and would like to but haven't had the time. I was using Alexa within an app, but figuring out how to use hands-free didn't happen. I'm going to ask my daughter to help get it working. Cool feature!

  • Fire TV Stick is a bargain

I decided to try Fire TV Stick on a whim and cannot believe what a great deal this thing is. Now I have Fire TV on all my tv's. The remote works great and we also use the Fire TV app on our phones. Alexa feature works great on both the remote and phone app. I do have cable but probably do not need it anymore.

  • Better than I expected

yeah I was a little sceptical about getting this but overall greatly pleased. it comes loaded with more than I personally need but like a Swiss Army Knife, I'd rather have more options than I'll ever need or use but I like knowing if the time does arise, I'll be set. Also have the option to use get more apps. it hiccups from time to time but it's way better than using the Web and thank God I don't have to deal with those God forsaken pop ups anymore. I really have no complaints about it. in fact, I'm going to get one for my roommate for his birthday and for a back up incase the media hating chimpanzee revolt ever gains more speed and mine gets destroyed in a fantastic battle to the death and I survive and get its ass taxidermied and mounted on the wall over the TV that illuminates room with the very media they despise.

  • Fire TV Stick - Great Value, Limited Customization

Amazon Fire TV Stick (2nd gen) is an affordable and reliable streaming device. There is a learning curve to customize settings and get Apps Amazon doesn't want to provide. There is a lot of non-removable bloatware that uses up memory resources needed for unbuffered streaming. The My Apps and Channels line is not really customizable, as bloatware is regularly refreshed in. If you learn to clear out the Data and Cache on apps prior to viewing movies or binging on shows, you will have a decent experience. For the price, Amazon Fire TV Stick is a great value.

  • Love my fire stick

The fire stick is versatile and easy to use. It scrolls faster than Roku when you watch streaming TV. The Alexa voice system can find programs, change channels on certain apps and answer questions just like my Echo. Ask it to play music or find a video or do your kids math awesome.
