I purchased this and within days i got a shock from it, it tripped the power. I pulled the head off and it was full of water! Nothing wrong with the seal do not know how it got there. Is this even to Australian standards, this is what I get for purchasing a cheap import (was already in Australia). I realise im in the minority. Very easy to clean, easy to set up and great volume of water feeds through.

why are you selling these
i bought these filters a few weeks ago, i got tank clean buy aquarium people, they told me these units leave after time, i took my chances , wow 3 days of running, it emtied all the water all over my floor, down my inducted heating vents, made a big mess, i looked at the filter reviews , all say same thing, they leak around the top, the water went into my electrical plug, turned all the power off in the house, why are you selling these, they are very dangerousVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

The replacement

Great product, works very well
The filter itself is well made and can be configured with different filter options. I wish the installation & user guide would be better so you don't have to guess or watch videos on YouTube. For a little extra effort, it could be easily fixed. Once you have worked it out, the filter works very well and the water is very clear. I did buy an extra filter sponge to improve filtration further and make it easier to clean. Very good value for money as this unit competes with $300+ units on the market. A good quality filter
Update: I have now purchased my 11th filter and am happy to report they all continue to function well after several months of continuous use. Much easier to prime than its smaller cousins. Fill with water prior to trying to pump it and you will have an easier go of it. There is plenty of room for additional media. I have used coral for my tank with 20 baby koi (10cm), 8 adult bristlenose and about 20 juveniles. No nitrite spikes running 3 of these in a 1200 litre planted tank. Giants pond filter.
I have found this filter to be exceptional. The power of the pump is amazing. It runs quietly, it's hard to hear it. The water returning to the pond is the only noise I can hear. The filter is easy to clean, and I have cleaned it weekly while I waited for the pond to clear. I am very pleased with my purchase.
