Easiest way to set up a dual battery & solar system
The 1225D is well designed, looks good and is the easiest, in vehicle, smart charger I have come across. I fixed it into the inside of a customised battery box and fixed two anderson plugs to the box, one to accept incoming solar, the other to accept incoming from the alternator. Once connected the charger takes over and manages your battery and various inputs & output effortlessly. If there is no alternator input, the solar takes over, no solar the reverse. If dual feeds are detected, it simply uses both (preferencing the solar to improve fuel economy). In my opinion its the only way to set up a dual battery & solar system.

Good gear and Aussie made
As my alternator is only producing 13.6 volts I wanted to make sure my auxiliary battery was fully charged. The redraw bcdc does this which in turn will increase the life of the battery and running time of my accessories. BCDC work great
Easy to install (once you find a location in your 4WD). Finally able to charge my AUX battery properly. Tried for years using just an isolator to disconnect/charge and after 5 dead batteries (each lasting about 2 years) finally got a BCDC. Basically, it does what it is supposed to. This is the second one for me...the first is still going well in the caravan, looking after the solar input and car input.
