    Love This Chainsaw

I used it for the first time yesterday, this saw has great power and the battery lasted at least an hour . Used to branch, cut down and buck up several large Juniper trees. I can also use my other small 60 volt batteries from my other tools with it. It's light and easy to work with for long periods of time for this 62 year guy. Some of the other things I noticed I really, really like about this tool no more breathing fumes, no more mix gas and the best thing I like about this saw, no more having the crank up a gas power saw every time you set it down to move branches out of the work area.

  • Top critical review

Great saw but won't hold up

I purchased 2 of these chainsaws and they worked like a champ..... until they both no longer work. One just stopped working and still looked brand new and the other one seems like the motor burned up (does dewalt not put overheat protection on this?) If the chainsaw had the longevity that my gas power chainsaws have I would give it 10 stars but neither of my dewalt chainsaws lasted even one season. Just in case you still want one (for light work) the battery last much longer than expected, the chainsaw will rip through large tree trunks, and overall its a fantastic saw, seriously great, when it works......

  • Easy to use

Much less hassle than my old two stroke saw. Good for the average homeowner that needs to do a winter clean up and doesn't want to fool with the maintenance needed by a two stroke chain saw. Charge lasted long enough for me to cut down a good sized pine tree.

  • Awesome little saw

It’s obviously not the ONLY saw a lumberjack would need, however if I were a lumberjack, I would still buy one. It has excellent cutting power. Mine threw the blade once, then I tensioned it properly and it’s great. I LOVE not having to pull start it for every cut, and I love not having to group my work to avoid pull starting. I have a Stihl 036 and Husqvarna, I don’t use them much so neither will start without a carb job. IM OVER IT!!!! I’m keeping the Dewalt and tossing my “quality” saws..

  • Don't buy this item! The oil pump goes out quickly if it even works when you receive it. Mine didn't!

Oil pump doesn't work ... I bought this in Feb. so I didn't use it until May when it warmed up a little. By that time it is too late to get a refund or replacement, so I guess I am just stuck. I paid the higher price thinking I was getting the best (DeWalt), boy was I wrong ... I can't fix it ... can't afford $40 an hour to have the oil pump replaced! So guess I am just the big loser here. I have been looking for deals on other DeWalt items I need (Drill, Pole Saw, Saws All and Lawnmower) ... DeWalt will lose a lot of sales just from me, not counting everyone I can convince to not buy DeWalt. I found out the oil pump goes out on these quickly thru research online ... mine was out from the beginning! Warning ... be careful about buying these DeWalt Chainsaws!

  • The Dewalt Is The Best Battery Operated Chain Saw Out There!

My husband has gone from using gas chainsaws to trying out the battery operated ones. He's tried about every brand on the market. He didn't try the Dewalt because he felt it was out of his price range. I found this great deal on Ebay at a great price and decided to get him one as a Christmas gift. He told me this is the best chainsaw he's ever had! It has features that make it easy to use and keep up, like the way the bar and chain works and the way the wood chips come out and don't built up. The variable speed that gives him the right amount of power for each cutting job he tackles. The Saw is TOUGH and has awesome power if and when he needs it and less when he doesn't. It makes many cuts on a charge. Recharges quickly and best of all it cuts like butter! I watched him using it against a couple other brands he had. It out did them on all levels. He's so happy with this new saw. He's bought extra chains and batteries, though he hasn't needed either. The chain has not dulled after cutting several trees up. He's impressed and I'm impressed and I'm happy to write this review so others will know they should get this saw!

  • Great saw and good value.

This saw is a game changer for me. As I get older it is harder for me to start the larger gas chainsaws, and this saw is always ready to go with a push of the release and a squeeze of the trigger. It cuts very well and has surprisingly good power. Time will tell if it has good longevity. For larger logs the 20-inch gas powered saw will still be necessary. If my 24-year-old 14-inch Craftsman saw hadn't quit oiling I would not have been in the market for another saw, because it still starts easy and runs really well.

  • Surprising power.

Have used it out in the woods for several days now and experienced no problems. It holds a charge for a long time and has plenty of power for small pruning jobs up to taking down some medium sized trees--and most of our trees are oak. I saw where someone else said in a review that these saws can develop problems with the bar lubricator, but I have not experienced any cons yet, other than perhaps the cost of buying a backup battery. But I may not need one anyway; I don't expect to give it that terrible of a workout. And I love not having to start a two cycle engine.

  • Good product, a little pricey but worth it

Great saw, understand this is a chainsaw with all the inherent dangers of a chainsaw, so be careful and read manual. I have 5 or 6 dewalt 20v tools. I got this to clear some shooting lanes in our hunting property. I sold my 20 year old gas saw and got this. I cut tree and brush for an hour and did not have to switch batteries, although I bought 2 of the 60v variety. I would not use the 20v in this but I guess you could. Initially the chain did stretch a lot, but I could retighten it without tools, this is true of all new saw blades. I like the ease of starting, the safety features, the fast cutting and the low noise.

  • Great saw, a lot of power.

Nice saw gets the job done. Only used it for about 30 minutes so far. Have to keep an eye on the chain oil, seems to use a lot. Had no trouble cutting down 2 14" trees with still almost a full charge left. Highly recommend this saw.
