Terrific power - could be too much.
Seems very robust. As powerful as a smaller petrol strimmer and highly suited to dealing with long grass, thick weeds, heavily overgrown areas. Quite large head and together with its considerable power I found it rather too much for my average sized garden where it was difficult to avoid causing damage. I would thoroughly recommend for rough work where it offers much more power than any other corded strimmer I have ever used, but it does need a very light touch in many garden situations.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Would recommend but only for use with the heavy duty line (no auto-feed).
The strimmer is well built and looks well made. However the automatic cutting feed with a lighter line is useless, ran through the cord in about five minutes of use. The saving grace of the machine is the heavy duty line which works well. Will use this on heavy duty line only in the future. The power is enough for most tasks, less power than a petrol machine but with the heavy duty line it was enough to tackle some medium growth.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A 900 watt strimmer having a little more power than many petrol one and being considerably less heavy. Cuts grass nettles and other light undergrowth with ease. Lightweight and powerful
This is a very good product its powerful and easy to use I have a grass bank with course scrub at the top of my garden and chose to buy an electric strimmer as opposed to a petrol cutter because it is at 45 degrees and difficult to stand therefore dangerous to use a brush cutter I am a builder and didn't think I would find a strImmer this powerful and the quick change strimmer lines are a great idea all in all I am glad I bought it well doneVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Making my life easy
I like the features of this strimmer as it can trim the edges around the lawn and a quick change of the spool's, then you can set it to work on more course grass and vegetation, I think it is well designed and has a quick push button adjustment on the steadying handle. Breezes through overgrown areas.
Ordered this as my back garden was quite overgrown and wanted something a bit more "heavy duty" than my previous strimmer without having to go the petrol route. Managed to get it set up and ready to go with very little hassle. This strimmer makes short work of long grass and all but the thickest brambles just using the standard 2mm line, it also comes with some 2.4mm heavy duty lines for rough cuts but I went through those pretty quickly. The automatic feed for the 2mm wire sometimes lets out too much wire which has resulted in some damage to the guard so I'll probably have to replace it at some point (and some slightly abused ankles/shins) but I'd consider that a minor annoyance given how easily it got the job done.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Heavy duty, high quality
Much better than previous strimmers so far (my garden has burnt out 4 cheap strimmers in the past decade, I decided to pay more for quality this time). This strimmer: 1. Cuts grass, vines and weeds easily without even using the heavy duty line. Much faster than I expected. 2. Grass can't clog the air intakes as the motor is high up on the handle, away from all the cut grass. 3. Stays very cool, a lot of air is pushed through the motor. I've only used it 3 times so far, but I am very happy with it. (The last strimmer I bought was expensive and cheaply made, so badly designed that I managed to cut myself on the blade that stuck out at an odd angle. Excellent big wattage strimmer - Strongly recommended.
I suffer from arthritis and am unable to use my engine driven strimmer anymore. Needed a decent quality electric model that would be up to the job of heavy grass verges and the like without being too heavy. This Black & Decker model is very powerful and well up to the job so far.
