Deceptively good tone!!!
I was admittedly skeptical that I'd get a tone out of this thing that would be acceptable. Boy was I wrong! 4 gigs in the past 2 weeks with it in different venues and the compliments coming from our engineers have been quite positive. Running XLR out with a BBE882i in the loop, no amplification on stage. Engaged are the Fender and Plexi with moderate gain. Verb and short delay for width. Unreal how good it sounds FOH. However, the unit creates way too much noise when activating the distortion / Gain/ boost features to use as a replacement of larger effects pedals or amp set ups. Tech 21 FlyRig 5 Small footprint,excellent effects. Tech 21 is really on to something here. I can see why this item would be very convenient for those on the go. This idea could possibly be expanded with a Fly Rig 6? (six effects)...Fly Rig 7? (seven effects) or....? Even with seven effects this unit would still be highly manageable and portable. But,it is only 5 effects. The 5 effects are thoughtfully voiced. I can't imagine anyone having a total dislike for this item.
