Lightweight with great features
Small, lightweight and packed with features. Easy to navigate menus. Easy to tailor settings to your specific needs. This recorder comes with an earphone and mic jack. If you ever want to experiment with an external mic, the feature is there. I was surprised to discover that if you wear headphones while recording, you can hear the recording live. If you add an SD card, be aware that when you plug the recorder into your computer via the included slide out USB, two drives will be displayed. The internal memory gets one drive letter and your added SD gets another, so be sure to check both drives to find your files. This Sony recorder creates good quality sound files as is, and if you are so inclined, you can enjoy experimenting with your files with your favorite sound programs. Excellent recording device with good preamps
Very small and very capable device. Low self-noise and quiet pre-amps allow for excellent quality of recording. It also supplies plug-in power for microphones, so you can use professional-grade lavaliers. Also capable of recording line-level signals. Good features for organizing your recordings. The device doubles as a capable MP3 player. Maximum supported file quality is PCM 44100/16 bit (i.e. CD quality). I really like this product particularly that I can recharge the battery. I have used the earlier version and ended up spending mega bucks on AAA batteries. This was a great find. It can be a little finicky when it's subject to moisture, but after a few hours it is back in working order. There are several options that take some time to determine what's what. A techy person would love playing around with this recorder. I also love the lightweight and thin size. Is a very good recorder, but I wish it had moire alternatives to charge the battery and to connect to a computer since the USB port seems fragile.
