I've bought this Mini Recorders before. I love it, and it has always worked. I accidentally pulled the cord on the recorder too hard because I was rushing. I, therefore, shorted out the cord. I bought this particular Mini Recorder (4301237) and it does not work as well as the first one I bought, which I had a number of years. The number on the Recorder that I had for a number of years is 43-1237. I wouldn't think that the "0" would make that much of a difference, but it did. If the Recorder with the "0" in it works, because sometimes it doesn't, the quality of the voices is good, as well as the compactness and the ease of use.
I'm a writer who interviews a lot of people, and while I'm fully digital in a lot of other ways, I still use the foot pedal cassette tape transcriber, which is still the fastest and least expensive way for me to transcribe interviews myself. This little device, while very hard to find now, is essential!!
This device does exactly what it was designed to do: attach to a recorder (tape or digital) and a landline phone receiver to record phone conversations. It is a simple and elegant unit, extremely user-friendly and provides clear recordings.
