    Nice AP for outdoor

    Nice WiFi, it has a power injector for 110 - 240v plugin. I needed 24v so I had to make a breakout poe cable to power it. Would have been nice to have a separate power input socket as an option. Oh, it can be set up direct stand alone, you do not need to use the cloud or software. I haven't tested the signal distance yet.

    The signal range of this item is limited

    I purchased this item to connect to my front gate wifi door bell. Product arrive on time and without hassle, positive feedback to the EBayer. I have TP-Link nest in my home and this works perfect. Now this unit is around 40-50m away from the doorbell, but the reception over this distance is very limited. The doorbell notes it around 10-20% and it is direct line of sight, plus it drops out a lot. I adjust the antennas today to try to see if that makes any difference, but it made it worse in most cases. I tried with my Iphone from 15m away and it had a download speed of 15-18meg based on a my 55meg connection. If I walk inside my home, the connection completely drops out. Basically to me, based on the above, my internal modem would do better.

    Can’t set it up, so useless so far.

    I have tried the recommended app, and the recommended browser url to get to the commissioning settings, but neither of them work. There is no default IP address shown in the instructions, and tplink tech support online chat ran me around in circles. Looks good, but after an hour or 2 I’ve given up wasting any more time. A quick search on Google for tplinkeap.net doesn’t work will show you I’m not the only one having problems.
