Allow the pads to air activate for half hour before using in your gloves or pocket.
The product works well, but I do suggest that you open it for about 1/2 hour before using to allow the air to activate the product inside the satchets. I did use them straight from the packet and slipped them into my cycilng glove but they took a long time to warm up on a cold winters morning.
