Normal "made in China" quality control.
I bought two sets, one for myself and one as a gift. Both sets had issues with the eyes. Metal flashing partially covering the openings. I needed a power drill and small metal files to make acceptable holes. Note: cast iron is not an easy metal to shape. Also the cats eye marbles are poorly mounted inside. Over all I would give them a C+. General appearance is good and a good value.

Well Packaged - Sprayed Black Paint on Metal Cats - Stripped Paint off metal to let tarnish to give a vintage look. Pleased with purchase. Heavy made can remove eye brackets to change color for glass eyes. A good project. Andirons have a lot of details. Fun purchase
