  • The Tokina 100 Macro for Nikon Is a Bargain

I got this lens new on eBay for a great price, and it's on my Nikon D810 most of the time. It's a versatile lens, great for macro as well as general purpose shots. The AF is fast, and the results are tack sharp. It's very well made and just feels good on the camera. Solid.

  • Awesome Lens

This lens is great, I'm still working with it but love the macro feature. I actually like the slide AF/MF images are tack shark with my D7100, I haven't tried it with my D7000 yet but I don't expect any change. When I get a chance to use it more I will update my review. For the price you can't beat it, great macro lens and awesome fixed focal length. You do hear some noise with AF but that doesn't bother me too much. I just enjoy taking great pictures

  • Stellar image quality with fuzzy auto focus speed.

This lens is extremely sharp and built like a tank. A real gem from Tokina, but its auto focus will disappoint you. Auto focus is noisy and inaccurate; however, for macro work, you'll mostly need a tripod and manual focus by hand to get an object precisely focused. Not a deal breaker in auto focusing, but a bit annoying. Overall, for the low price, it is a must have lens for anyone who is serious about mavrophptohraphy. Highly recommeded!

  • Great macro lens, but not for sports.

Great value macro lens. The only minor negative is slow autofocus that had trouble grabbing focus on my kids (I did get some in focus but at a low keeper rate). Not too surprising considering it's a screw drive lens and has a huge focusing range. The focus clutch is awesome and the manual focusing action is smooth and precise. The attached image of the flower is a 2 image focus stack at f32

  • Great macro lens

At half the price of the Nikon 105mm VR macro, it is a great value. At least as sharp as the Nikon lens and since VR is not needed for macro, I don't miss it. Also, it does not auto focus with my D5200, but I don't use auto focus for macro shots. I am very pleased with it.

  • Best professional-quality macro lens at an affordable price point

Tack sharp lens, and built for everyday use like all the AT-X Pro products. The auto-focus / manual switcher is a genius design for macro lenses. You can let the auto-focus do most of the work and then easily take over to make micro focus adjustments.

  • As all the reviews said, this lens is great value.

Really enjoying this lens. It's affordable, sharp, and well built. It takes beautiful Macro shots but, as advertised, is great for portraiture and walking around. 100mm 2.8 is a very nice compromise.

  • Buy it!

This lens had rave reviews, I bought it for use with my Nikon d5300 and I LOVE it! It meters just fine with my camera, but the AF doesn't work (as expected). I don't mind at all though, and this lens will grow with me as a photographer and will be at home on a future full-frame camera (where the AF will work ;)

  • One of the finest macro's on the market

I use this lens on my Sony A7II body with an adapter. This lens is not only fast at f/2.8, but it's sharp, sharp, sharp! At 100mm it's an excellent portrait lens as well. With it's clever design and more than competitive price, it's not to be missed!

  • Cheap and sharp!

Sharp and inexpensive! Lack of a built-in focus motor does limit the usable cameras by excluding entry-level DX cameras as well as the newer Z-mount cameras with FTZ adapter. But, for my D750, the results are fantastic for my use-case (capturing slides and negatives).
