    ON THE WATERFRONT is both brutal and beautiful

    Criterion's release of ON THE WATERFRONT is the best treatment that this film rightfully deserves. There are three different restored versions of the film presented in their respective ratios. Plus there's loads of extras. It's like a personal Home Film Study course of a true American classic. Stark filmmaking at it's best! Even though I didn't buy the Blu-ray version as originally intended, the standard version still looked great in my Blu-ray player. I can only imagine what the Blu-ray discs looked like!
