This biographical drama follows the talented homosexual Russian ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev as he defects from the Soviet Union to the West in 1961. Followed by KGB agents in Paris, Nureyev fights for his right to sexual and artistic freedom as Russian eyes watch his every move.
Bravo, Ralph Fiennes! We await "White Crow - Part Two"—where we see Nureyev's life and story in the West.
Excellent film—beautifully shot and tense with excitement, especially at the end. Ralph Fiennes has done a superb job creating and directing this project. He took a talented dancer (with little or no acting experience) and pulled a terrific performance out of him. I hope Ralph Fiennes makes a sequel—showing the next 32 years of Nureyev's life in the West (during which time he became one of the world's most-famous celebrities).
