Disappointing follow-up to their multiplatinum breakthrough
I was a huge Twisted Sister fan back in the day. All being said they may even have been my favorite band. I remember the anticipation for this, their follow-up to the hit Stay Hungry, and the tremendous disappointment that followed. I owned this album on vinyl back when it came out. In fact I was probably a first day buyer. Recently I have been working on trying to reacquire my collection (which was 99.9% vinyl) on compact disc. I have been pleasantly surprised by a few albums that I had sort of dismissed back when I had originally bought them which I found today to be much better than i remembered. Come Out and Play unfortunately is not one of these. Other than the title track and the cover of Leader of the Pack there's not much reason to own this. The bonus track King of the Fools is okay and should have been on the original track list. The rest of this, other than the embarrassingly juvenile lyrics but decent music of Be Chrool to Your Scuel, is nothing but filler. I'm glad to have it for the songs I appreciate, but can only recommend this for the most diehard, completist Twisted Sister fans.
