Many railroads bought the Baldwin 2-8-0, so this is a very popular model, suitable for modeling in a variety of geographical settings. It is also compact, so it's a good way to get steam on a smaller layout. Well-built, with quality parts, I have several Spectrum steam locomotives because they consistently out-perform and outlast their competitors, primarily Athearn Genesis but even the much more (ridiculously) expensive Broadway Limited and MTH--all of which quickly developed cracked axle gears! My Spectrums have never given me a problem. Get a new one while you can; unfortunately Bachmann isn't making Spectrum anymore.
