  • Fascinating bit of history well produced and acted

I enjoyed watching this film about a naval conflict during the beginning of WW2 about which I previously was unaware. The lead roles were most convincing and the battles at sea well staged. An entertaining story. If you enjoy historical dramas then I believe you would like this film. The device of using an American radio newsperson as a commentator and a character in the story for the events in the latter part of the action in Uruguay ( Montevideo ) was somewhat annoying but that was partly due to the fact I don't enjoy strong American accents.

  • So exciting

Love this movie - except coming from England it had the wrong area code & so would not play on my TV. I am now very disappointed as I LOVE this movie. Thank you Janet

  • Great entertainment.

I first saw this film back in the 1950s, liked it then and and I certainly like it now. Now that I have my own copy, I don't care how many times I view this wonderful movie.

  • Great story line. One of Randolph Scott's better western movies.
