Purchased this for my ‘97 e36. This scanner will not have full access to vehicle systems through the e36s 16 pin OBDII port and I had to buy a 20 pin adapter. If you need to use the 20 pin the scanner will tell you so after plugging in your VIN. I also recommend downloading the desktop app this allows you to update the software, purchase additional vehicle profiles, and easily view/print error reports. Once I was using the 20 pin connector the scanner worked exactly as intended, would recommend.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Worth every penny!
So far, I've only used this product to read and reset ABS trouble codes for one of my vehicles. I appreciated that this device was able to help me realize that there was a problem with my brakes that I wasn't aware of at the time, that I had a leaking wheel cylinder on my passenger-rear drum brake. And here I thought it was throwing an ABS trouble code because my daughter drove that car with a bad wheel bearing to the point where the brake caliper mount was the only thing holding the wheel on to the steering knuckle!!! Haha, to make matters even more amusing, once we replaced that wheel bearing, we took notice that the other side's bearing had gone bad as well. I am definitely the type to repair my own vehicles when the job isn't beyond my capabilities or resources. Having this device on hand to help me eliminate guess work in finding a problem or to simply avoid having to pay the dealership to reset a trouble code makes this device worth every penny. I do look forward to diving into the manual a bit and exploring the features that I have yet to use. Apparently, there is a feature to help you bleed brakes, ABS manifold and all! A must have tool for serious DYI
Not much experience yet using this scanner but so far its better than the cheaper OBDII scanners I've used. I'm a DYI mechanic and using the scanner for a high mileage 2007 BMW.
