  • I Love My New Mac Mini!

My computer for the last 10 years has been a 2011 Mac Mini which served me very well. It was time for an upgrade as I could no longer upgrade the OS and various of my programs. Also being a senior citizen I'm on a budget. So when I saw this 2018 Mini with Core i3, 3.6 GHz and 128GB SSD at a reasonable price I jumped in. Not being a techie I'm a little challenged in set up and so forth, but it turned out to be very simple to load my files from my back-up Time Machine drive. My problem came when I tried to upgrade from Mohave the system it came with to Big Sur. After two hours of loading in the software, it told me I didn't have enough room to install! Yikes, what now. My mind ran to getting another external drive for all my files, etc. so I could leave the Mini as my boot drive. Fortunately, I called Apple Support first. They were extremely helpful and enabled me to compress and delete extraneous files to free up space. Big Sur (System 11) then installed seamlessly and the system runs like a top. I'm very pleased. It will serve me well. I would advise heavier users than me to get a bigger SSD drive or plan to buy a much cheaper external drive if you're a gamer or video editor as the 128GB version won't be enough for your needs. I love my Mini!

  • Intel is the best microprocessor for legacy windows

Last of the Intel Mac Mini line I got this one brand new and sealed from the 2018 design. I discovered when I bought an M2 mini that parallels support for the m2 abandons all the legacy windows platforms. It requires buying windows 11. I sent it back. None of my programs run on windows 11. Some have switched to a subscription based plan. I’m content to keep intel.

  • The good and the Bad ....

I had to buy this to replace to save my apps as Apple changed their chips which wiped out many of the apps I bought and paid for so while I lost alot and still trying to recover. Dissapointed in Mac Apple in general due to loss of thousands of dollars in apps i can't use due to their format change in micro chips ... I give it 5 stars due only that it works but I still can't use my old apps .

  • Intel chip rules

I was looking for a intel chip, since my old thunderbolt 27 inch display doesn't work with M1 and M2, and also no option to setup Windows as a second system. That's why, even if it is a bit old it's the best Apple device I could get for myself

  • Another great Mac value

You won't find a blue screen here. Macs just work and without headaches or screaming. It's Linux with a friendly face. The mini is my favorite and with the Lightning interface everything is FAST.
